Guzman y Gomez - Bundall — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Mr Gomez, after our last encounter I’d hope you would have wisened up. But alas, it never changes. See I was very famished one chilly night and I had a long hard thought about the plethora of options to dine at. I was obviously skeptical about both Guzman and Gomez, but I let bygones be bygones and went to give it another shot. I trekked through the subzero temperatures to my car and made my way to the bundall branch of Guzman. Anxiously I placed my order of cheese fries and a beef burrito (hold the beans). I whipped out a pristine 50 dollar bill to make this regrettable purchase and my change never returned. I received what some could call “food” and this made me think my time there was finished so I drove off. Something felt off on that drive home. I got home and reached for three change I should have been bestowed upon me and then it hit me. I was robbed by Mr Guzman and/or Gomez. Fury spread from head to toe as I realised my hard earned money had been taxed by this phone establishment. After a while I calmed down and began to eat the “food”. Before I destroy your business Guzman, I must say the cheese fries were above average. But… THE BURRITO. I took an anxious bite into it and felt an indescribable feeling. Like somehow Guzman and Gomez saw my last review and said “kill this man”. I began to feel lightheaded, my stomach began to feel the brunt of the toxic chemicals mixed into the food. I bravely consumed half of the burrito before I started to mildly hallucinate and quiver. I had to relinquish this disgusting Mexican cuisine to my dogs who were quite timid to consume it as well. Disgraceful Service at Guzman y Gomez Bundall Rude & Unprofessional Staff

If you’re looking for good customer service in the Gold Coast, avoid GYG Bundall at all costs. I’m an Uber Eats driver trying to make some extra cash to move overseas with my partner, and my experience here was absolutely disgraceful. Yes, they were busy, but most of the 15 staff members were just standing around chatting instead of actually helping customers. The only people working were the ones making food everyone else was useless.

One female staff member at the counter was particularly rude. I asked her a simple question, and instead of answering, she rolled her eyes, turned her back on me, and walked off like I wasn’t even worth her time. Her attitude was so disgustingly disrespectful that I had to say something. Even then, she barely acknowledged me. It took me two tries to get anyone to help, and they acted like I was a complete inconvenience. It doesn’t take two seconds to assist someone, but apparently, that was too much effort for them. All because I didn’t have an Uber bag (which Uber never even gave me).

What makes it even worse? Every other store we visited that night on the Gold Coast was actually helpful and professional. But not GYG Bundall they treated me like trash.

Maybe you need to train your staff on customer service, or maybe you have, and these people are just rude. Either way, it’s unacceptable.

We we’re planning to grab some food for myself when we knocked off, but after this disgusting experience, there’s no way I’ll ever spend my money with Gyg again. If this is how they treat people, they don’t deserve anyone’s business. Terrible service, rude staff avoid this place...

I didn’t think I would be posting so soon but GYG has reached depths of lack of quality. I decided to go back and see if they had improved after my previous review (I received an email from them that said they would look into the matter but never heard what came of it?!).

The second time I found hair in my food and my hubby had missing cheese and Jalapeño.

The third time I received half quantity of what usually goes for a burrito bowl.

Not sure how a big chain can bungle up its quality control and get away with it…. Really sorry to say but the Bundall branch is by far the worst! I went for lunch with my husband dead tired after our gym today to the Bundall branch. We kept waiting for our order for half an hour and when we went up to the reception, we were told the food had been kept on the side! They didn’t even bother to call out our name. When we started eating the cold food (which ruined half the experience), I realised my burrito wrap had some unexpected crunchiness. To my disgust it was the dirt in the unwashed lettuce that I was chewing in my mouth!! Such terrible service and horrible unhealthy food that can make us fall sick and ill.
