McDonald's Elanora — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Worst McDonald's I've ever seen. In any country. Ever. Shameful. The place was filthy - litter and food scraps everywhere, spills on the floor and despite asking several times, the area was not cleaned in the 45 minutes we spent there. I don't mind clearing a table in a restaurant but this was WAY beyond a patrons ability to clean. It needed garbage bags, cloths and a MOP! They only have two high chairs for the whole restaurant (which is targeted at families!!) so if they are both in use, you are forced to juggles babies and small toddlers on your lap (while trying to stop them touching all the filth littering the restaurant!!). There was a unidentifiable blue coloured 'potion' in an unmarked 1.25L plastic bottle just left open on the floor that smelled very strongly of some kind of alcohol or alcohol-based cleaner. When I took it to a staff member to dispose of, they just told me to 'put it in the bin'- and when I pointed out that there was not a bin in the place that wasn't overflowing with rubbish, I was told to 'leave it on top'. I guess that is marginally safer than the floor, but hardly cuts it for OH&S! The service was ridiculously slow and felt longer because we spent it surrounded by filth and trying to keep our toddlers from getting into all the mess. Honestly, it looked like junkies had been camped out in that section! A trip to the toilets only yielded further horrors and our 2 year old came out exclaiming loudly to the whole restaurant about all the 'wee wee' that was found on the floor and the poo stains up the wall. He of course thought it was the coolest gross thing ever, but as a paying customer I have deep concerns about the hygiene standards maintained in the kitchen if the rest of the place is this bad. The poor kids working there looked harried and out of their depth. McDonald's Elanora, you need to invest in some additional staff on weekend shifts and polish up your policies and procedures...

Horrible service twice in one day. Went through for breakfast and ordered a cheeseburger meal and a 10 nugget meal with a sprite. Received the food and drove to the beach. Finally found a park and went to eat only to find we had received someone's uber eats order which was a bacon and egg McMuffin and a double cheeseburger meal. Also the sprite wasn't sprite, it was water? Then in the afternoon we thought we would stop on the way through to grab some icecream cones with flakes. I thought they couldn't possibly stuff that up. Yet when they went to hand them to me, there was no flakes. I asked where they were and the staff member turned back around to some sort of female supervisor who started complaining that I hadn't said I wanted a flake. I said I had and was happy to pay for the difference as the said they hadnt charged me for them. The went and found some, stuffed them in and handed them to me. Then the so called "supervisor" calls out from the background at me," Next time order them at the speaker." In what I can only describe as an incredibly condescending tone as if I was stupid enough not to know how to order a flake. Horrible customer service. If I was the manager/franchise owner of that place, I would seriously consider giving these children an actual course in customer service and tell them to pull their heads out of their behinds and do their...

Ordered 3 sundaes I asked them to not pour minimal icecream in the cups and i wanted all of them with flakes which is 3 choclate sundaes with 3 flakes in each sundae. For some reason at 430pm they asked me to wait in the drive through waiting bay (not sure why as making 3 chocolate sundaes doesnt take that long) so we waited, then when the girl brought them out there was more chocolate than icecream, and there was 2 flakes missing so I sent her back in to sort it. Then a "manager" (same lady who told us to wait in the drive thru bay?) Came out to tell us that we didnt order 3 sundaes with flakes only 1. I told her we ordered 3 with flakes all the while standing there holding the 3 sundaes in her hot hands. I told her she will have to go pour 3 more and add flakes to all of them as per our order, for some reason Shakira demanded that I say please, god knows why when she screwed up the most simplist of orders, (unfortunately I called her a moron) which wasnt a good idea but the way she dealt with the situation was idiotic and I couldnt believe she was making such a big deal about 2 flakes which probably cost 10 cents at the most. She then gave a full refund and told me she doesnt want to give us what we ordered at all.
