A McMockery with a side of Lies.
My experience at the McDonalds on Ferry Road this morning (27th February) has made me not want to return. The service I received was sub-par, at best.
I pulled past the first order point as it was not undercover (the rain was torrential) so I pulled up to the second, it was here that I was served my McMockery. I ordered a Mighty McMuffin and a ham and cheese pocket only to be told rudely, "we haven't done ham and cheese pockets for, like, over 2 years". Thanks, I'll order a ham and cheese toastie then. The gentleman could have advised that you no longer make the pockets, and recommend I get a toastie, but why do that when he can feel superior for knowing the McDonald's menu better than a customer? I drove around to the pay window where an eftpos machine was thrust in my face, and I had to decipher the mumblings of this gentleman to be directions to the next window.
I got served my side of Lies at the collection window. My order was repeated to me by the young lady, I was then given my coffee. After a small passing of time, she advised that my order would take a bit longer and asked that I go to the waiting bay. Normally I would comply and there would be no issue, however on this day the rain was heavy, and I could see there were no cars behind me. So I said to the young lady that I wouldn't mind waiting where I was, as it would save her going out in the rain and myself getting wet when opening my window. She seemed perplexed, as if the relentless downpour should not affect a customer in this way but allowed me to stay and left her position. Moments later I discovered she had left her position to inform her superiors of my insubordination. Another young lady (who I refer to as purple shirt) came to the window and said to me that there were 2 cars ordering (implying simultaneously, meaning somebody ordering while taking a wild deluge to the face) and demanded that I drive to the waiting bay. This was a powerful play and one of purple shirt’s special moves, as I must consider my fellow customer. I conform and drive to the waiting bay.
While waiting for delivery, I keep a keen eye behind me for the brave soldier to drive around the corner to collect their well-deserved breakfast, they never arrive. Moments later an umbrella emerges from the restaurant with the young lady clutching a slowly soggying paper bag, with what appears to be a purple shirt standing behind her in the doorway, giving final orders. She arrives at my car as I get the window down in time to collect, as I do not wish for anyone to be in the rain for too long if they don’t want to be. After checking in the bag that all my items are there (a habit I have acquired with this restaurant in particular) I ask the young lady about the 2 other cars that purple shirt had demanded I move for. She said that they were still ordering. As I dried the inside of my car door, I thought to wait a second to see if these cars would drive around the corner. They did not. Which begs the question; was I lied to? A quick turnaround in the forecourt and drive out the exit would reveal.... still no cars in the Drive Thru.
In summary, my issue today was not with the food. I found the food to be satisfactory, and to a standard that all McCustomers have become accustomed to. My issue today was with the poor service that I was provided. From the moment my interaction started, to the moment it concluded, I felt like an inconvenience to your team. I understand that waiting in the Drive Thru may not be commonplace, however, if the request is able to be accommodated why should it not? And certainly it should not be dismissed by somebody with a point to prove, by lying to your customers? What message does this send? This certainly wasn't a delicious feel-good moment made easy. This interaction showed little integrity, I was served my food but was not served with respect, I felt excluded and the actions taken by your team left me feeling disrespected, unwelcome...
Read moreno front counter service, all of the workers have their back turned to you making it so hard to get any service. The food took a while even though they had plenty of workers on each station and not that many orders. The fries were over salted, burgers were all made wrong, they forgot the tomato on both the mccrispy deluxes we had ordered and used regular cheese instead of the aussie jack cheese, they also used mcchicken sauce instead of the crispy sauce. I’m not sure if it was just a mistake or they were stupid and weren’t trained correctly on each burger build but it’s not that hard (i work at maccas too). We had customised one of the wraps to have cheese and they forgot it and to no surprise forgot the tomato too. My friend with high cholesterol wanted a grilled chicken snack wrap but they got that wrong as well, she got a chicken snack wrap instead which is fried. We also ordered 24 nuggets and they were all cold and stuck together, surely not safe to eat. All the drinks we ordered did not come with ice even though I could see the ice in the ice bin, the frozen drinks also came melted. my friend ordered a frozen no sugar but got a regular instead which wasn’t safe due to her being diabetic. Did not receive any napkins and when i asked was told they ran out and had to grab our own straws which were literally dirty. On the topic of dirty, the crew need to learn proper hygiene. A blonde girl was seen scratching the back of some poor boys ear and slapping his bum in the kitchen. She then returned to preparing food without changing her gloves like nothing happened. The manager had disappeared half way through me waiting for the food and appeared as though she cannot run a shift. She was quite degrading to some customers who were just trying to get some help with the my maccas app. I also witnessed a guy complain about his order and they lowkey ignored him even though he wasn’t being rude about it. i would never going here unless you want to the worst experience. never when i say never i mean it don’t come. will not grace presence here ever again. bell st maccas in...
Read moreMe, my boyfriend and my friend went to the drive thru and ordered 2 Big Mac Meals and 1 Medium Chips. I don't speak much English so I asked the attendant to repeat some information, for some unknown reason, she got stressed and started screaming into the microphone: “Go to the last window!!!”. So, we went to the next window and the machine said: “Make payment”, It was our first time at this drive thru and I didn’t know how it worked… Suddenly the attendant appeared screaming and saying: “Is this the last window??? ” - Slamming the glass with all the strength and anger in the world. Then we went to the next window and the same super rude and stupid girl held out the payment machine. So I asked why she was doing that, being so rude, because we hadn't done anything for her, she treated us like that because of my ignorance in not knowing which was the last window? When I opened my bag, the potato was completely thrown inside the package, without any care. I'm not a picky person, but because of this girl's attitude I went back and tried to understand what was happening. The same girl quickly started shouting at us and saying that the potato was there and that we should leave the establishment immediately. When I refused to leave and asked her to give me a descending potato, she started recording the situation. So I made a point of saying to the recorded video that this girl is unloved, crazy and probably doesn't like working there and that's why she mistreats customers. Her colleague in the situation was just as rude and disrespectful as she was. He did not provide any kind of help. Maybe the team has already experienced some problem before, but that is no reason for an attitude like this. Desperate and disappointing to know that MC Donalds hires such rude people without the slightest education to...
