Nando's Coomera BP — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

As a die hard nandos fan over the past 10 years, it’s sad to have seen the gradual decline in quality :( pitas used to be such an iconic thing at nando’s, the diced cucumber and tomato mix was evenly spread through the pocket with 3 or 4 chicken strips which made it super easy to eat, you always got a good bite of everything, up until the last bite. But now… there’s a big lump of chicken, couple bits of tomato and a few leaves of lettuce that you try to bite but the entire patch of lettuce wants to come out… the 2 or 3 bits of tomato you either miss or get all in one mouthful, and then all that’s left is just a lump of chicken in bread with all the sauce and mayo just sitting in the bottom of the pocket. Plus the mayo seems to taste gross now too? :( i wish this was a once off… but this is the 3rd pita in the last month that has been consistently like this. In a world of inflation where the cost of a pita is twice as much as it once was, and half as good as it once was… it doesn’t make much sense to spend your money on them anymore. I hope that enough feedback encourages positive change, but until then i’m just gonna leave my honest input here. A giant like nandos should have evolved and gotten BETTER over the years, going backwards makes zero sense other than driving profits up at the expense of food quality and loyal customers.

EDIT: 27th december 2024 - just had the best nando’s of my damn life. Young lady who served me was super sorry about the wait but i could not have cared less cause when i got home with the food, i barely breathed and it was all gone. We had an amazing feed and the staff were all great. Chicken was amazingly well cooked and not stingy with the basting at all. Chips were perfect. Not sure if the above review maybe caught some attention or i just had great luck tonight but wanted to check in and edit since my last review. Always willing to let some time pass and give my locals another chance (or maybe i have a lifelong peri peri addiction who knows) but if tonight’s food was anything to go off, nando’s hasn’t tapped out on us just yet. We travel NSW to Brisbane every few months to visit family. We always stop at Nando’s Coomera and enjoy tasty heathland food served by friendly people. Something seems to have changed.

We were ordering dinner at around 5:45 and were advised by the person on the register ( who lacked the normal customer focus) that they would not give us plates ( for our Harvest salads Meals. We asked why and were told, without much care, that that was how it is.

A subsequent customer raised this with the duty manager and got given plates.

So we bought $50 worth of food jammed into 2 boxes with bamboo cutlery, as opposed to the normal presentation on a plate with proper cutlery.

To the owner - I would be interested to know if this is normal policy or whether we got the B crew who could be bothered washing up. Try and eat a Jarvest salad from a box and see what you think.

To make it worse we noticed that a later customer was given plates for her family.

Generally service was very poor and not what we have become used to - I hope things are back to normal next...

Like other reviews say here - Rude staff members. In my case, one stopped working to bad mouth and laugh about me to the other staff members (including the manager) whilst I was still there and could hear her! I have NEVER experienced such rude customer service. The manager did nothing to stop the staff member from doing this either. I asked for the staff member’s name so I could file a complaint. Neither the staff member nor the manager would give me her name. The staff member had earrings from top to bottom on both ears and was Caucasian, blonde and on the larger side. I’d much rather identify her respectfully by her name but even without a name she is she can be identified by this description. I won’t be back as long as these girls are working there. These girls are costing the business customers and given the recent reviews, it seems like people have had issues with the same girls. Incident: Mon. 18th Aug. 2025....
