We went with friends for tea last night (Wed) as they were having xmas raffles. Our friends had been before and said the food and atmosphere was really great. Where do i start- I'm vegetarian so i ordered the vegetarian burger on the menu and the reply was "sorry we have just changed the menu and this is not in the system so i ordered the wagu beef burger but asked for the meat and bacon to be removed- they decided i didnt want the egg either but i got halved cherry tomatoes a slice of pineapple cheese and lettuce on the bun. My husband ordered chicken schitzel and chips with gravy- that meal came out with no gravy- the girl said she would get it - waited and waited no gravy- one of our friends ordered a fish burger- that came out and the waitress was behind me giving another plate to my friend when the mayo dish ended up on the floor splashing mayo over the waitress and in my hair and onto my shirt- no apology for that and she didnt even attempt to clean the mess up off the carpet- my friend put a serviette over it so no one would walk in it- she went back to the kitchen to get more mayo and we asked her for the gravy for my husbands meal- she came back - still no gravy- one of our group then went and asked for the gravy- after another 5 minutes someone brought the gravy- by then his meal was cold as was the gravy ( the gravy was like dirty dishwater- very runny). My husband then went to the bar to order drinks- there was 4 people behind him- the young lass serving- served them before he was served - we thought it must have been very busy but that wasnt the case. It will definately be a good while before we come back for...

Unfortunately not safe for people with food allergies such as coeliac disease. Tonight I ordered the GFO Caesar salad, believing a salad would be lower risk for cross-contamination. After confirming with staff that it was safe, and having this noted on the order, we were assured it was gluten free.

Within an hour, I became violently ill and will now be unable to attend work tomorrow. If a kitchen cannot safely cater to allergies, it should not advertise gluten free options, doing so is misleading and dangerous.

Beyond the immediate illness, exposure to gluten causes long term damage for people with coeliac disease, the damage to the small intestine can take 6-12 months to heal. During this time, I’ll struggle to absorb nutrients, be fatigued and face increased risks of complications such as infertility and colon cancer. And will most definitely have to get an iron and vitamin infusions which aren’t cheap…all from a salad I was told would be safe.

I understand this isn’t a GF kitchen, and there are cross contamination risks associated with this. However, a salad is one of the simplest dishes to prepare safely, making this experience especially disappointing as there’s restaurants up the road that are terrific with ensuring food safety.

Please take allergen safety seriously - lives and health...

Looking at one or two reviews above it seems some people expect the Chateaux Ritz quality and service for Harry's Cafe de Wheel prices!! We visit the Bowls Club every Wednesday Roast Night. What a fabulous, friendly, fun Club. The meals are top quality home cooking, large and filling and great value - I can't cook a roast at home for what the Club charges. My only complaint is despite a very significant investment, every week for over a year, I still can't win the Family size meat raffle!! Oh well, the proceeds go to a great cause......... Thanks Paradise Point Bowls Club for some unforgettable Wednesday nights with our friends. Bob

17 December 2017: Sadly the Club Restaurant has changed very significantly in the last few weeks but I will leave my original review above as it was correct at the time it was written. The original cheerful staff are all gone. Wednesday Roast Night is over and the roast of the day runs out before 6.00 pm. What is available is rather mediocre fare at greatly increased prices. It is understaffed – last Wednesday we waiting for over an hour for the meal. At lease we had a few good years of great Wednesday night Roasts with great company. Time...

We had our 50-year reunion here last night, and it went off wonderfully. A big shoutnout to Jaymee, who organised the event for us. Bar manager Ben, and all the bar and bistro staff who catered to our needs with excellent attention, great customer service, and respect. I used to be the bar manager here back in the late 90s and early 2000s, so for me, there was no other place that I would have chosen for our special event. Everyone on the night had a wonderful time, and all agreed that they would like to make this an annual event. I knew that PPBC would not let me down, and they exceeded expectations. Thank you to all the fine staff on duty. See you in 12 months

Love coming here with my Mum for the $12 lunches as they are delicious and such great value for money. I do however think that the bar staff could do with more training in regards to making cocktails as the lovely older gentleman behind the bar always struggles with making my cocktails. I got a Pina Colada today and even though he genuinely tried his best to make it for me and apologized for the wait the drink was pretty flavourless, watered down and mostly made of ice. Apart from the cocktails the lunches and staff are always great and I can't fault the Paradise Point Bowls Club ❤️

First time there, and I walked in, and it was spotless. Live music friendly staff, we had tapas which were okay. Large pokies area, and happy hour from 3pm. They only run bare foot bowls every second weekend, and even though it was lovely, I would have concerns if I was to take a group of friends there. They may be too loud for the PPBC. Different vibe to the League club, around the corner, and maybe a little too nice for us. We will go back there and see what it's like for barefoot bowls, and maybe a Saturday to see if the atmosphere changes.
