Serengeti Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Lively Friday night entertainment a short happy hour 4 30 to 5 30pm. A limited menu. I was waiting for friends to arrive so ordered a bowl of Chips and pumpkin fritters. I asked the waitress to check with the cook as ge pumpkin fritters were doughy soggy not like a fritter, the waitress came back and said the chef confirmed they were a soft doughy fritter they were like eating cold dough mixture so I said take them back. No alternative or refund offered. I am a local only live down the road and meet my neighbours for dinner once a week. Have Been twice for drinks but will reconsider a further visit due to this experience. I rated a 4 because of the atmosphere but if this was purely on my food experience it would be...

I have been visiting Serengeti daily for the past 12 months. Always enjoyed the coffee. Things have changed recently, I have had at least 3 conversations with the counter hand querying the glass size of the coffee. I was told they have a Macchiato glass and a Latte glass which is a bit bigger- normal size. I order a Latte, and now ask for it in a Latte size glass. Unfortunately, again today, they keep keep serving it in the Macchiato size glass and still charge a Latte price of $5. I have pointed out to the coffee maker when ordering, I want the Latte glass size and I was told that will be $5.50. Too much like hard work to get a standard Latte in a standard glass here. Definitely not...

Try something different with South African cuisine. This place is excellent as the food is traditional, super tasty and a local business atmosphere.

Small menu but focused on them and meals are full of flavour.

Friday night music played live and enjoyed excellent starters main and dessert.

The food is really good and the beers from South Africa and Namibia are good.

If you want something special tell the owner when you book and he is usually on the floor ensuring food and service are good.

We had to order at the counter which detracts from table service but that is a minor item.

Would recommend breakfast as well.
