Took mum for mothers day breakfast here definitely wont be going back, staff seemed nice at first. Ordered coffee and breakfast for 6 people. Coffees come out we order flat whites ended up getting a qtr cup of froth with a liquid inside you could hardly call coffee... very weak tasted like hot milk. We sent them back only to get a grunt from the waitress and no apology. After they brought the "re made" coffees back less froth this time but scalding hot and they tasted like hot water with extra coffee nothing like a real merlo coffee which they claim to serve.
Finally the food arrived one of the breakfast was with poached eggs which were not actually poached looked like they were cooked in one of those microwave egg poachers. Mushrooms on all breakfasts were ice cold clearly pre cooked and stored "fresh" from the fridge and avocado on one of the breakfast was clearly from a packet. Very very dissapointing.
Finally when we went to pay for breakfast to my suprise they had charged us again for the coffees we had to send back and they re-made which were still no good and when we complained about the eggs and the mushrooms being cold we were told "we dont know unless you tell us" total cop out we were at the counter telling them.. Seriously an apology would have been more appropriate.
Do not rate this place very highly lucky they got 1 star only because its the minimum would a gave a 0 if i could. Dine here at...
Read moreWe have come here a few times previously but today was the first time in about 12 months I would say. The fish was tasteless, the salad was a quick mix you could make at home & a bland dressing and the chips were pretty much cold when they came out so soggy (sweet potato fries) , I understand its a cafe and maybe you need quick/ easy to make food but then charging upward of 25 that plate is ridiculous. I am happy to pay for quality food but that was not good & the fish advertised as grilled with a slight crust came out tasting like crumbed fish/ wasn’t fresh, I will say they did wipe it off the bill & the service was friendly but for some reason the coffee also came out cold as well. The fritters were large in size and there was lots of but I much prefer the smaller bite size ones as you can taste more flavour & these ones were pancake size, I reckon two would be enough. Because they were so large, the avocado and fetta was not enough for the entire serving. Also had to add the eggs on in addition. The only thing that has still remained the same is the delicious cakes they get delivered and still sell. Today had their banofee pie and it is still iust as good as I remember. So if you’re wanting to stop for maybe coffee and cake, I would recommend it for that however just make sure you insist on the...
Read moreThe first time in ages I had breakfast here and I was impress by the fast friendly waiter who accommodated all our needs in an efficient and professional manner. About a week later, I returned for lunch and couldn’t be more disappointed. I recalled that sometime ago I had ordered a light pasta dish with Salmon. This was no longer available so I ordered the only pasta dish available on the menu.It was creamy,,but so intensely so that it was almost Inedible. There also was hardly any spinach, which was supposed to be one of the main ingredients. I Doubt the chef tasted it. My husband‘s egg dish looked rather average with ingredients just stacked on top of one another. The sauce on top was excessive (should have come in separate dish or small jug.) Service was very average and took a long time. Generally, I felt disappointed, not just for myself, but for the business itself. I don’t know if there’s been a change in chef or management, but I do know that the population around here, visiting or otherwise expect a higher standard. In a time where everyone is making cost cuts imagination, style and presentation are free. Do not skimp on taste. I hope my criticism is viewed as constructive, because I don’t want to see another Paradise Point business struggle and not...
