Piatto is a little hole in the wall restaurant in a shopping village set back of the road.at Mermaid It seats 16 people in a darkish room with mood lighting. The bar is in front of the open kitchen. There is a 4 course menu of which you choose 3 courses. There are 3 options in each course. As there were 3 of us we sampled each other’s food. All was delicious with fresh, interesting flavours. I understand simple Italian food, but I found this too simple to the point the flavour were monosyllabic.

I am unsure if I had to pay for bread to mop up the sauces or if it was complimentary, but either way, non was proactively suggested. This was disappointing cos there is nothing better mopping the sauce with some bread. Alas in this case my I had to use my carbess finger had to do the job.

There is only a set menu available, which feels expensive given the food that is served.
