The Oak Cafe in Mudgeeraba is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. One of the best things about this café is its outdoor dog-friendly area, which makes it perfect for pet owners who want to bring their furry friends along while enjoying a meal or coffee. The outdoor seating is spacious and shaded, creating a comfortable space for both people and dogs to relax.
The menu offers a good variety of breakfast and lunch options, including healthy choices, hearty dishes, and delicious baked goods. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and well-prepared. The coffee was smooth and rich, clearly made by skilled baristas who know their craft.
What really stood out was the attentive and friendly service. The staff were welcoming and took the time to check in without being intrusive. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and gave great recommendations. Even during busy times, the service was efficient and warm, which made the experience enjoyable.
The café’s interior is cozy and stylish, but the outdoor area is where it really shines, especially if you have a dog. There are water bowls for pets and plenty of space for them to move around safely. It feels like a community hub where locals gather to catch up over good food and drinks.
Prices at The Oak Cafe are reasonable for the quality of food and service you get. It’s the kind of place you can visit regularly and always feel welcome.

Read moreOver the years I have regularly been to Oak. The last few visits have been disappointing, leading to this review.
Food & Service - 40 minute wait for takeaway order of 2 X bacon and egg rolls, 1 X kids B&E on toast. Whilst I appreciate when businesses are busy, I would have expected a heads up if there’s a decent wait on food at time of ordering. I was grateful the barista noticed I was still waiting and queried what I was waiting for. However there was no follow up to clarify how much longer the food would be (an additional 10 minutes passed). The B+E roll was
Service - I asked one of the staff members if there is a toilet at the back I could use. Their reply was “I don’t know”.
Service - ordered 2 X kids milkshakes. Order taken with no commentary around this, received 2 X adults milkshakes - when queried with the staff that we had ordered kids milkshakes they said we don’t serve kids milkshakes. Obviously the total amount paid was significant, but also very frustrating this was not mentioned at time of order with a solution to split down one milkshake for my kids.
Coffee remains of a high quality, and the barista today was great, thank you for recognising that I was waiting beyond a...
Read moreWe have been going to the Oak for years and it has always been our go to as locals, however since under new owners we have tried and tried to continue to love this place but unfortunately the standard has fallen dramatically. The wait times are always ridiculous and I don’t think there’s been a time yet this year where our order was actually correct. I’ve had missed orders multiple times, burnt banana bread and cold coffee. Today was my last chance to give it a go and my takeaway banana bread was dry and came without butter which is typically a given at least on the side even if not stipulated. I really felt for the staff as being Father’s Day there was one girl taking orders and one girl running the entire floor. I am confused as to why they would take over an extremely successful business and change the coffee beans, change the entire menu and waste time and energy on things like replacing the style of coffee mugs and other decore. The focus should be on the food and bev and sadly this will no longer be our Sunday spot. I really do hope they take on the feedback from...
