The bartender wearing glasses was incredibly rude to our group of eight when we asked to sit for breakfast. He laughed and informed us there was no coffee available, which we were fine with. However, his attitude made us feel like a burden just for stepping onto the premises. The service was appalling, the hospitality was disgraceful, and it left a bitter note to end our holiday on.

Firstly, you were not fully booked. Yes there were a few people outside but inside was only occupied by about four people. Now, we walked in and asked if you could sit us down. You could have easily said “unfortunately we cannot accept a group of 20” and we would have happily walked out.
However, my point here is that the gentleman behind the bar made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Laughing underneath your breath and being outright rude is not a way to treat customers especially if we’re willing to pay the 20% surcharge you had listed on the door. I’m not too sure you would find many restaurants that would be frustrated by having a possible 20 people walk through their doors on a public holiday. This treatment from your staff is a reflection of your customer service regardless of the situation that they where in prior to...

The salad was EXCELLENT with beans/brocilli/red onion/carrot cooked to pefection with mixed greens and beautiful light salad dressing. The staff were fabulous with my 94 yr old mum needs, serving us our meal in the car and even making her extra garlicky warm buttered bread..YUMMO!!... We also ordered Hectors gorgeous aioli as a side to have with our meal and that added extra ZING.!! Im not keen on fried chickpeas but that didnt stop this being a five star meal. Our pistachios and berry meringue with lemon curd was a KNOCKOUT especially as we added a scoop of vanilla bean icecream. Dude were we happy! LOL As we ate in our car, the sun was shining and pelicans and boats drifted by. Thankyou to the SUPER TALENTED CHEF Jessie and the AWESOME staff for making my mums day out of the home an...
Read moreMagical afternoon in Goolwa and was hoping for a table on the deck. Arrived for 6pm and three parties were on one side of deck and the other side wasn’t set. We were told we needed to sit inside. Going into the indoor dining room was like sitting in a cafeteria. There was no ambience or dinner music. The room was closed off from the outside and the wall of windows we were sat against were dirty. We were extremely disappointed to be stuck in that room. Then to our horror, a couple were sat on the side of the deck that was apparently closed. Not good enough. We ordered sparkling water that came out at room temperature and for $10 a bottle, it wasn’t enough for 4 people. When we raised this issue, I was made to feel a liar. The staff get the job down but we felt more of an inconvenience then guests. The meals were ‘pub’ standard with a upmarket price tag - $180 for four main meals and bottle of wine. Won’t be back...
