The Camellia Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Goulburn

First time visit, also the last time. Rude female with black teeth at the cashier taking orders, hardly speak English amd upset when asking about different dishes, because I'm not familiar with their menu. Didn't understood my name after repeated 4 times, so she wrote KAREN on my order paper and laughed to the other employee behind the counter. The other girl behind the counter understood name and fixed the Karen, but I felt very offended. I know it's my fault because I had no time to learn the menu and dared to ask.

The food wasn't good at all, and not because of their attitude. Simply it tasted bad. The cheapest ingredients: hard, dirty rice, overuse of vinegar for sweet and sour, chewy, undercooked chicken and beef. I don't get it why others eat there, $38 for 3 boxed dishes is expensive.

Even I can cook better, so...

My husband and I were on our way home to Phillip Island and had booked in to stay in Goulburn for the night and had no clue where to eat. Looked up best Chinese in Goulburn and The Camelia popped up. The friendly smiling waitress Recommended a couple of dishes - Golden Bags for entree were to die for, special fried rice & the crispy steak with Cantonese sauce was amazing, and the chicken dish was superb. A great little restaurant in a great little town! The Camelia, which based on its decor has graced the town of Goulburn for decades, has a wide array of Chinese delicacies, and is open for lunch and dinner. Especially wonderful are the lunch time specials. Apart from the small irk of having to pay cash for the lunch special (which seems to be a wider Goulburn thing), everything else was simply perfect, and I’d return to the Camelia in a heartbeat when I’m next...
