The first thing you notice with any Hog's Breath is the memorabilia and atmosphere. Promptly greeted by a staff member to show us the way and set out the table with menus. Could not fault the service provided tonight. The food, on the other hand, was below average to average.
Entree was good, 4/5 overall. We ordered the share platter (prawn twisters, loaded skins, tenders, and calamari), yet it just didn't seem to all be cooked at once. The prawn twisters were warm, whereas the calamari and tenders were super hot, and we had to wait 10 minutes for them to cool down.
The mains are where they fell short tonight, 2/5 rating. Both ordered the same meal, one lite and one traditional in size, both medium-rare with chips and (1) salad. After ordering, we were told 5 minutes later that there was no 18-hour Prime Rib left as they had sold out. They offered the same cut of meat but cooked as a standard steak. 30 minutes later and they came back to the table stating that they found one (lite) 18-hour Prime Rib left, and we could have it, so we said yes.
One meal (trad) came out piping hot, and the other (lite) was warm at best. When asked how the meal was, we stated that one meal wasn't hot and overall bland in flavour. The staff offered to replace the meal and it'll be out within 5 minutes, which was true. It was quick and everything hot and fresh, but it was too quick. The steak was under cooked (rare, not medium-rare). The trad size steak was a below average steak. It was only just edible with the amount of chewy fat, hard grizzle, and non tender meat. We both ate half in total, and the chips were the best part, even though they weren't very curly, just curved.
The manager on shift was very apologetic, offered to remove a cocktail from the bill, but probably would have rathered the steak removed instead.
I feel as if all, or if not, most Hog's Breaths are falling off lists to visit with their inconsistency of food, lack of pride in whats being sent out of the kitchen, and the cost.
It's getting harder and harder to want to visit any Hog's Breath due to the above-mentioned. That's coming from someone who used to love being a customer and worker at...
Read moreWill never go again. Asked for vwd(specified i dont care if it is burnt to charcoal just make sure there is no blood) on 2 steaks and medium to well on another. Recieved order cut into it and it was spurting blood when u pressed down on all the meat. Mentioned to staff. Which then took those peices of meat and suposibly recooked the same peices we had cut up for for 25mins. In which time we'd ordered drinks. 25mins later meat came back and we cut more into the meat in the center and it was still bleeding let alone there was no longer any hickory sauce or marniade on the steaks and they were like boot leather to cut. The manager on dutie offered to send the same peices back for a 3rd time. In which time we were still waiting for our drinks.... I was fed up. It is unexceptable to recook 3 peices of meat 3 times and expect it to be okay to eat. Let alone the hygine factor especially during covid Of putting steaks on a grill that i highly doubt is cleaned for every meal that is cooked then cooking a freash meal for someone else on the same hot plate as our 3x meats that was recooked twice (in which we were assured were not microwaved). We paid for the 3 kids meals 3drinks and garlic bread as that was what was consumed so they still got $75 out of us for that. And walked out disserpointed and with a loss of apitite due to poor kitchen and managment skills. A staff member mentioned they were understaffed. But it was not busy and i have been to resturants that have less staff catering for more tables more efficently then this hogs breath at morayfield. Hogs breath as a hole has not lost us all as customers just this morayfield store. As this morayfield store seems to let us down every year we go for myself and my partners birthdays as we are 1day apart. I would rather travel the disance to redcliffe for proper service and garenteed good food like we were going to origanily but regretfully chose to give morayfield another chance....

The customer service was good, but the atmosphere was decent at best with no air flow or air conditioning, it was quite warm in there.
We decided on Nachos to start, followed by the 300g rump, and a schnitzel.
The nachos came out and we were instantly disappointed, the presentation was sloppy, and the food itself was sub-par. For such an easy meal, this was quite disappointing. The salsa was acidic, the guacamole tasted heavily processed and the beef was bland. The corn chips were really good though but they’re meant to be the vessel, not the star of the dish.
We waited a very long time for our mains to come out, and caught our first glimpse of our meals in the window, which we watched for no less than 10 minutes before they came to us.
The steak was ordered medium rare, but came out rare, which is hardly the biggest problem. Because of how long it sat in the pass, the whole meal was cold, when the only cold thing on the plate should have been the slaw.
The schnitzel was admittedly juicy and tender, but it was very bland and the breading was soggy, as well as their famous curly fries which were undercooked. The Mac was delicious though and definitely carried the meal.
The food experience was abysmal, and extremely disappointing, especially considering it cost over $100 for everything. The price should reflect the quality, but this was not the case at all.
When you go out for dinner, you want to experience better food than what you can cook at home. It would have been cheaper to buy two steaks, ruin them, go buy two more replacement steaks and...
