(Added comment, why no response at all from the owner of Quisine to my honest review? Interesting..)
Last Saturday 3rd Feb 2024, I took my family and relatives to lunch for my 70th birthday, 8 adults and a toddler in total. I had booked the $29 banquet lunch (originally 10 adults and a toddler) about 3 weeks before. Twice I dropped in for lunch and each time I checked with the lovely weekday waitress that my booking was written in their book. The waitress assured me it was and was marked as a banquet lunch and required a highchair. On the night of Friday 2nd February, I phoned through the final number of adults, 8 plus the toddler.
We all arrived at 11.30am as arranged and went to the desk where the booking register was, outside the entrance door. We said hello and smiled and said we had a booking etc; we were met with no smile, a scowl, no verbal response and taken to the table set up for 8! They obviously knew 8 were expected for that table.. I politely asked the girl about a highchair for my granddaughter.
Three waitresses were working that day. Two waitresses were very inattentive and unhelpful most of the meal time. First drinks were served with no problem. I asked at midday about the procedure for the banquet. The rudest girl said they had no booking for me. Then, "$29 or $39 banquet?" I replied, $29 thankyou.
The banquet came out in batches and was delicious as usual. We all enjoyed the various foods. After that, service was basically non-existent. We had to ask the staff to clear empty plates, serving platters, cutlery and drink glasses and for more water (lots of us driving) and were ignored. One of the waitresses helped when I asked again and was polite.
Two weren't and stood behind the counter, looking at phones or discussing us and our need for help with clearing etc. I ended up taking the plates and cutlery to their bench, as did my daughter! Then the girls proceeded to talk about us like a scene out of Mean Girls! Bad behaviour for any restaurant to have staff like the two we had. Many reviews say the same thing.
I asked for 2 servings of churros at the end and 5 side plates please; 2 serves of delicious churros came out but no plates for anyone.
Being my age and having travelled and worked all my adult life, I have never encountered such poor or blatantly rude service anywhere! I also had done a lot of waitressing in New Zealand and Australia when young and my career was in reception and service, and I would have been out of a job quick smart for similar behaviour towards any customer. Part of customer service is checking and pre-empting customer needs and being positive and welcoming until the customer leaves. It's a pity for Quysine that people don't return as the food...
Read moreFood was lovely and came out quickly, but the service was just AWFUL . The young blonde waitress clearly didn’t want to be there and was so rude. Customer service means - smiling and saying hello and offering assistance etc. We had the complete opposite!!!! when we said hi we got a bland hi with no smile and the rest of the lunch was met with snarky comments and giggling/gossiping behind the bar while my 70 year old mum tried to clear plates and glasses at her own birthday lunch (I ended up taking all the glasses etc to the bar and that’s when the snarky comments and giggling and staring at our table started) and instead of coming to help clear all the plates and glasses they just sat behind the bar talking about us and looking at us. When we chatted to the blonde waitress about my mums booking, which she made 1 month ago and has called 3 times to chat about the booking, the blonde just said extremely rude “We don’t have the booking in the system” to my mum and my mum was quite upset. NOT ACCEPTABLE! The booking was 100% in your system. Kids - Respect your elders and also if you want to work in hospitality you need to be hospitable!!!!!!!!! Clear the tables instead of standing behind the bar stirring up the guests!!!!! This generation of kids are just rude, entitled and lazy! Also the air conditioning wasn’t working properly and we were all sweating the whole time there.
update - 1 week after both my mum and I put an online enquiry in for the manager to contact us… we still haven’t...
Read moreWe had high hopes of a lovely Valentine's dinner last night however there were parts to the evening that were spoiled due to the average food, the lack of service and the uncomfortably warm room. The staff last night were run off their feet, perhaps some additional staffing may have helped the slow service. We ordered the Valentine's special, and I found that some parts were inedible, the croquette had the consistency and taste of undercooked white sauce, the entree so overheated it was like tomato paste. Our dessert that was part of the meal was forgotten along with water we had requested for the table. From what we could see, the waitresses were working incredibly hard. The lack of service wasn't their fault, they were doing their best, we're extremely apologetic and my hay goes off to them. We understand it was a busy night and expected there to be some.delays, but not to wait an hour for dessert and water. I'm not sure we will ever go back, though watching other people's meals come out that they ordered off the menu, it did look...
