Ordered 2 breakfast dishes - eggs Benedict + fort breakfast - and 2 coffees - dirty chai + iced latte - total was $53. Exorbitant prices considering each breakfast dish only came with 1 egg. Benedict was served on a croissant, although I have never tasted a croissant that tastes like white bread from the supermarket? It wasn’t toasted so if you can imagine eating a poached egg with hollandaise on untoasted bread - it was soggy and disgusting. There was also more hollandaise than the whole rest of the dish combined. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem if the hollandaise was good but unfortunately this tasted like store-bought sauce. Flavourless. I ordered the chorizo option with the Benedict and when I say it tasted like a cheap sausage that had rolled in dirt and then was heated and placed around the plate - it was disgusting. Also I have to call out the stinky cutlery - the smell on the fork I was given made me gag (in a vomit way, not a slay). Yuck. I’m mostly writing this review for myself so I know to not come back again. If you love this place I’m happy for you. But I still don’t understand why breakfast food is so hard to master. It’s just eggs...

Everyone at the cafe is fantastic, and extremely friendly which is more than enough reason to visit the cafe itself. The coffees I've had have consistently been enjoyable and somewhat affordable. Unfortunately, the quality of the two meals I've had have made me reluctant to come back for anything more than the coffee. The chicken in the lime & pepper burger was extremely dry. Additionally, I came in for the fort breakfast once and everything on the plate was "okay". The bread wasn't buttered, the baked tomato was created as some weird form of bruschetta without cheese and slaughtered with unnecessary amounts of dry Italian herbs. Despite the name, the farmhouse tomato relish tastes nothing more than Heinz ketchup mixed with some onion. The pork sausage also didn't have much flavour either. I can't argue for the rest of the meals, but seeing as these two were recommended to me by staff, I find it justified to provide criticism for the meals. Chairs and table seating is also uncomfortably awkward. I'm sorry for the harsh review, but I provide it with hopes of improvements so I can bring along my friends to highlight the other qualities...

Ordered DS espresso 1/4 sugar, 2 x Almond Lattee 1 x small, 1 x large, breakfast roll.

Girl at counter took order, repeated order as 1 x espresso, 2 x flat white, brekky roll?? Had to correct her.

Double asked barista to put 1/4 sugar in cup whilst perculating, he confirmed.

Received 1 x espresso, no sugar, coffee was way too bitter, nearly undrinkable, Also received 2 x small latte, corrected should be small and large, redid latte to large, as advised above coffee way to bitter and I have had alot of turkish coffee in my time.

Brekky roll was prepared, and Bland at best even with Chilli and bbq sauce on it.

On arrival noone in line and 7 patrons inside already served. 7 staff members.

Need to train staff better to listen to customer instead if white noise in their heads

Way too many staff, to customer ratio

Just shy of $30 for thise 4 items, bit over priced.

Won't be back...

An absolute beautiful place to grab a seat and munch on some early morning breakfast. The staff were kind and accommodating even though I had gotten there during the morning rush and our food didn't take too long to arrive. I ordered the Waffles — which was the bestest choice I've made in the past 3 months. Although very very sweet, the vanilla bean ice cream and crumble really made everything come together in the waffles (you get two waffles on your plate, which you'll find is a lot considering what they put on top đŸ€€ I'm not complaining). The customers are even welcoming which was surprising as I'm not quite used to it, so I think the vibe they have going for the fort has really made it a nice place to eat at

Definitely a great place for coffee, a long catch up or to work and be well caffeinated. The coffee is a five star for me, hands down. A few reasons why the place gets four stars from me: there is no dedicated parking. The parking nearby is reserved for other businesses so if one doesn’t want to feel like a jerk, it limits options and results in a bit of a walk. The second is that while the toasted ham and cheese croissant was great, the spinach served with it was not. It was very wilted and did not taste good at all. Maybe if the spinach doesn’t look too good, don’t serve it? Otherwise, awesome place and I would definitely be hitting it up again!

Been there twice and loved both times. Wasn’t expecting to taste such fine and rich coffee but ended up being surprised. One of the best specialty coffee places in Brisbane. We were also thinking about getting a bag of their coffee beans however they weren’t able to grind them for us, which was a bit disappointing. But on the plus side, the owner (I’m assuming) was quite nice and explaining to us the differences in details between different blends. The whole crew was really friendly and welcoming. They also have amazing dessert. We grabbed a slice of some sort (don’t mind me, it was a long time ago), and it was quite delicious, not overly sweet.
