VANDOUGH Capalaba — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

I went all the way to Capalaba to order my son’s cake for his 21st, a young girl was very helpful and friendly who told me I had to speak to the manager about a cake, I waited 10 minutes as the manager was busy, then manager wasn’t very friendly or helpful, as I proceeded to order a cake she was texting the lady that makes the cakes so they could let me know the price of the cake I was after, no eye contact and in the end told me I should just buy the chocolates I wanted for the cake somewhere else and place them on top of the cake myself. I left as she said she would ring me with the price before I placed my order. I did not hear back until Thursday morning, no apology for the delayed, I had to order a cake somewhere else, very inconvenient and that is the service a manager gives to customers. I would never recommend ordering a cake for a special event there, cake was over priced and on top of that I was gonna spend more money adding the chocs I wanted cause she couldn’t be bothered helping me, I felt rushed when ordering and in the end she said on her text her eyes are getting bad as she texted the wrong number for my quote on the cake. Maybe if you really listened to me instead of texting while I tried to talk to u when ordering the cake. Very...

Been here a few times over the years and the customer service has slipped unfortunately.

Staff used to be very friendly and happy, now not so much.

Three times now we have been given the wrong items. And twice had to correct the server. Its deterred me from returning as often unfortunately. When corrected, some don't seem to understand they've given the wrong item ordered.

Please ensure staff know the difference between jam donut and cream and jam bun. And other products too.

Best jam donut around, when you do get them. Not stingy with the jam like some places are.

Sausage rolls weren't my cup of tea, didn't enjoy the taste but my partner thought they were okay. Pies are almost always delicious.

The blueberry Danish can sometimes be perfectly baked, other times the pastry is quite dry.

The meringues are delicious, again, when given the correct ones. Same with ham salad rolls, also if given the correct one.

They're was no second thought no assumptions, no additude to treating me like I was aggressive or on some substance, unlike other people Ive experienced in the past.

This lady rather then be like them. Greeted me with a with pleasant additude, patience and a smile whilst doing so, Aswell as wished me a good day... I couldn't ask for better treatment. could not have been more polite with me and helping me out.. to most it won't seem like alot.... keep it up people do appreciate it, I know I did, pains bad enough so good a person makes all the difference....
