Subway Capalaba Park — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

I went into Subway this afternoon to get some lunch. Before the worker who served me got a chance to make my sub another male worker proceeded to wipe down the cutting boards with his bare hands. This was ridiculous considering that it completely disregards food safety standards by contaminating those cutting boards with germs which later will come in contact with other customers food. After this the knife which was used to cut another customers chicken sub before my order was re-used to cut my tuna sub without any prior cleaning off the knife. This is again another disregard of food safety which can lead to cross contamination. As much as I enjoy Subway and respect their generally exceptional food safety and preparation standards this experience was a major disappointment. The clear lack of staff training, awareness or lack of care can potentially lead to future unexpecting customers becoming sick. Couldn’t get served 10 mins after advertised opening hours. I lined up at the point to order a sandwich. The sandwich artist working was serving a customer so I waited patiently. Then the sandwich artist walked down & approached me asking if I could wait because she hadn’t put enough bread in the oven for later yet. I said no worries go for it, when the sandwich artist had finally finished loading the oven & preparing for her day, she turns around & sees a lady who has approached the cash register end of the counter. Waited in line for 5 minutes only to arrive and see a scribbled note on the glass saying cash only. Went and got money out to come back and have them tell me they were still defrosting gluten free wraps so they weren’t available (this was at 12:15, so lunch time) Spent 10 minutes waiting for the slowest most disgusting sandwich service ever where gloves were touching money and food, tearing up food to make a salad bowl because I couldn’t have a wrap, and having bits of seafood mixed in with my chosen meat and then picked out with his fingers. Rude, slow, no apology and then got charged $11.30 for a gross salad bowl instead of $8 for a wrap that I couldn’t have anyway. Disgusting and rude service, will never go back to this...
