Tacos — Restaurant in Highgate

I was looking forward to this place for THE LONGEST TIME! It was always fully booked and I could never get a table, which made it even more appealing, however when I finally came, it was extremely disappointing. We booked a Thursday night for 7:15pm and came early and was seated. The employees were all very nice, but the food never came. It was only at 8:10pm ! That my dad told me to go ask for why our food wasn’t ready, he pointed out the fact that other guests who had come after hs got their food before us. Mind you this was after more than an hour of waiting. After talking to an employee we were finally given our taquitos, which was okay (it was very oily and very dry but still crunchy at least) then it was another 15 minutes before my dad asked again if our other order was ready and then they finally brought our $22 Birria taco platter out. Let’s just say it really went below all expectations and we were very dissatisfied. The corn chips were inedible, they were soo stale and cold you couldn’t chew them if you tried. The tacos were soo oily, when you picked it up with your hands it’s as if you just washed them and didn’t dry them. And speaking about dry, the brisket inside the tacos itself were so dry. The guacamole was decent though, and I guess the corn and chipotle mayo as well. But other than the taquitos, I don’t recommend going here. I was soo hyped about this place and told everyone that they should try it but after this experience I don’t think I will anymore. Don’t get me wrong though their food could’ve been delicious and exceeded expectations if they got their food to people way faster and if they properly cooked and served customers with fresh, genuine food. I understand though if they had a problem or issue that day, maybe short staff, they were all nice but if I do decide to give them a second shot, I’d probably hope...

We booked a table at 7.30 for 3 people and around 5 tables were occupied in the whole restaurant. They managed to make us wait for 30 min until we decided to check on our food with the waitress. She told us that we had to wait for another 10min but we asked to talk to the manager. The manager refused as she was too busy in the kitchen helping the chef… She then aggressively came out of the kitchen and THREW one plate on the table, spilling the sauce, clearly not giving a shit. She did not look at us, she did not say any words (no hi, no sorry). Please note, she was wearing a tiny skirt, a backless top, black boots and long hair down (not very professional and hygienic to work in the kitchen right..?). We obviously decided to leave and thank god got refunded by the waitress who was really nice and understood our situation. Message to the manager: I understand that you might have had a short staff situation and got overwhelmed. However, your priority is the customers satisfaction, we paid for the food and expected a proper service. Not acknowledging the issue here is the problem. We wanted to have a chill dinner night and ended up leaving hungry...

Waited LITERALLY AN HOUR AND A HALF for food and DIDNT EVEN GET ANY OF IT, what an absolute piss take.

Ordered at roughly 7, waited until 8:30 (half an hour before close- apparently we'd have to rush our meal despite arriving with a lot of time?)

Only got the price of our food back, wasn't refunded on our drinks, despite the fact we didn't get to enjoy them because we waited AN HOUR AND A HALF with no sign of our food.

got told our food was "coming next" twice and then saw 8 plates come out none of which were ours.

Food seemed to be coming out completely randomly, with some tables (who had arrived after us by a good half hour) getting their dishes before us (Even then, they only got half their orders)

Music volume/bass was ridiculous, had to yell just to speak with server

Not getting the full price of our cover back after not getting any food after AN HOUR AND A HALF is robbery- wasted money on parking, wasted 2 hours of my evening...
