Always been midweek for a quick coffee stop and it’s been fine. BUT first time going on a Saturday. Sat at a table, and firstly, two staff members tried to take our coffee order within minutes. Not a bad problem to have. Then two staff members tried to take our food order within minutes… I think that shows bad communication between staff.
Then the clincher…. the middle aged male staff member was very friendly and talking to my 3yo (that looks like a 2yo) saying “so what would you like?? Pancakes?? Yeah? Do you like pancakes? Oh do you like ice cream? Do you like sprinkles?” As my child is awkwardly and barely looking at him.
I thought he was joking.
I said “we’ll just have a bowl of chips please”
As he repeated our order, he mentioned the pancakes at the end, again I thought he was having a laugh as he was quite jovial.
They actual brought out pancakes and I had to mention TWICE I didn’t order these and could you take them away, the waitress put them on the table and said she’d bring us cutlery after I said I didn’t order this.
What if my child was a diabetic? What if he was gluten intolerant? Or I just didn’t want to feed him sugar and more sugar?

Read moreI dropped into 63 degree Highton this morning for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly impressed.
Cosy, relaxed atmosphere with soft lighting and warm wooden touches. Friendly barista behind the counter who was busy, but never rushed. Decent seating, although it fills up quickly in the morning.
I ordered a flat white. The flavour was rich and smooth, with good balance: not too bitter, nice crema, and the milk was steamed well—silky but with enough texture. One of the better flat whites I’ve had recently.
Now, for the almond croissant — this was the highlight. It had layers that were crisp and flaky on the outside, with enough buttery aroma. The almond filling was generous but not overwhelming — sweet enough to feel like a treat, yet still letting the pastry and almonds shine. Slightly toasted edges added a lovely crunch. It paired beautifully with the coffee.
Value A bit on the pricier side for pastries, but considering the quality, I felt it...
Read moreHorrible dining experience here. Plenty of better options within walking distance. Upon arriving, we were shown to a table and given menus. Nobody came back and we had to go back to the counter to order, except now, a dozen people that arrived after us had ordered and we were in for a very long wait. When the food finally arrived it was almost inedible. The scrambled eggs weren't scrambled, they were a flat smooth lump of glossy egg mix, more reminiscent of an omelet. The Danish was stale. The coffees were lukewarm. The Danish was brought to the table immediately, then a long wait for the eggs, then an even longer wait for the coffees. Who dines like this? If two people order, bring their meals at the same time, accompanied with their beverages (unless they have specifically requested otherwise), it's not difficult. *Remember - never comment on the food or raise concerns when in store, that's what...
