We thought from the beginning that if our food tasted half as good as it looked, then we were in for a treat. And yes .... it was a treat. The “mild” wasn’t namby pamby. It still had a kick. The “medium” would have plenty of life for most people. The service was attentive and respectfully friendly. Price-wise: there were two of us. We had entrees, mains and a rice. Two cokes and three beers. I felt $79 for all this more than reasonable. On a subsequent visit, though, four of us dined together for a total bill of just over $100. They kindly allowed us to split the bill 50/50. Two weeks later my elderly mum rang me to say that while I had been only charged my half, my Mum has been charged the entire amount. We were overcharged by $50+. I emailed them to ask them to check their figures for that day, and if they were $50 over for the night, that money belonged to my mum. They never replied. So while the food was great, I probably won’t be back.

Main attraction of Malee Thai is the al fresco dining on the balcony overlooking Highton Village. They do however need to give the wrought iron balustrades a sweep to get of the spider webs that were next to our table. Entree was an enjoyable roti, mains were beef with flat noodles & chicken green curry, both pretty good. They had however run out of a few things (sticky rice), but a generally good experience. Just give the spider webs a good sweeping.

Worst "pad thai" I have ever had. $25 for half a container with 4 peices of seafood in total with only a few of the pad thai ingredients. it couldn't even redeem itself in flavour, i took 3 bites and threw it in the rubbish. 1 star is even being too generous. This isn't anything like thai food. Felt like the staff treat thier customers like idiots and will try scam you if you're not careful.

Terrible awful service, will try to give you cheap opened bottles of soft drink, must pay extra for any sauce to be served with satay sticks, roti is oily and reheated in microwave. Must order on QR code with no instructions for dine in. Food is bland and there are much tastier and friendlier Thai places in Geelong. We wanted to support our local Thai. There was no one to handle customers at the front, there was no heater on inside or music the whole time, a chef sat us down and said there’s no table service or menus, that we use a QR code to order. This was fine as I had used something similar at other venues during the pandemic however there were no instructions on how they’d like you to order on the website. We eventually ordered but then they were then annoyed at us as the website automatically was set to delivery which I didn’t realise as it’s a tiny icon in the corner of the website. Knowing there was no service we ordered three drinks in total for the two of us, all were soft drink cans as specified on the website, when my partners drink arrived it came in a glass but without the can, I asked if we can have the can served with the other drinks but they said they only do glasses of drink for dine in and you can only have the can of drink if you get takeaway, I clarified they had cans, they did but said we weren’t allowed to have cans we had to have the already opened 1.25L soft drinks in the fridge. I felt as I was paying $4 per can we were allowed to ask for the can, I understand it’s cheaper for them to serve us glasses of flat opened bottles but didn’t think it was a big ask, she said she’d have to check with her boss. She came back and said all the drinks we ordered will be free but we’re not allowed to have any cans, I didn’t enjoy the drink nor understood why I couldn’t have a can but if it was going to be free I thought let’s just eat what we ordered and get out of here. During the meal the boss in the kitchen glared angrily at us. We tried to finish the meal as quick as we could as we felt so I welcomed the whole time. When I went to pay she tried to charge for all the drinks, I said you said they’d be free she said no you have to pay because they are served in a glass dine in, I said if that’s the case don’t specify cans on the website, she continued to argue I said to be honest we had felt pretty unwelcome d the whole time and that the lack of service was terrible, she said everywhere in the future will be using QR codes to order and I said even if that were true I think they would still talk to, check in with and allow customers to ask questions. She cut me off and kept sarcastically saying thank you. Needless to say we will never bother again, the main was ok, the entrees and rice very bland but the service was memorable for all the...

Absolutely a form 5 stars from me!

This food is perfectly cooked, hot and tasty. They absolutely DESTROY other restaurants we have been too in flavour, consistency and great service.

Customer Service A+ Food A+ Speed A+

As some would say ‘do yourself a favour’ and ‘do try it’.

My partner has Thai relatives and has spent time in Thailand, and thinks very highly of the food at Malee Thai. Rich flavours that you can tell are cooked as a labour of love.

I’m really not sure about the lesser reviews on here. Either they don’t enjoy food as I do, or they are used to food that you stand at a counter for and receive in a paper bag. The food here is flawless.

I wholeheartedly encourage you to try their food.

The view is exceptional too! If you can’t do a sit down meal, pick up or delivery works too.

Just brilliant. Keep up the...
