Sometimes I wonder how I miss gems like this - I imagine it has something to do with local regulars keeping it to themselves seeing as it is very small (16 seater) and very busy! Highly recommend making a booking! Jeff was kind enough to give us some insight into the humble beginnings and his visions for the future - we are so onboard! We were absolutely stuffed when we left so I don't think you need to order too much, certainly our eyes were bigger than our bellies on this occassion. The honey soy wingettes are definitely worth trying, the best I've had. The okra was also a stand out and I always try it when I see it but it is rarely executed so well in Australia. Jeff also gave us a sneak peak of the new dessert - I encourage you to leave room for this! The wine list is very good and Lethbridge Wines by the glass were a great pairing for our meals. So glad I finally found you,...
Read moreAnh Chi Em in Highton has stolen my heart. The menu isn’t huge however this is not a problem at all. The food is just amazing—fresh, flavorful, and honestly, it does all the talking for itself.
Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious, there is a lot of love in this Menu. It’s the kind of place where you take a bite and just smile because it tastes so good. Perfectly matched wines compliment your meal also.
The staff are sharp and on the ball, making sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. And then there is Jeff, charismatic and generous, he really makes you feel at home. Jeff’s passion for Hospitality and this restaurant is palpable. Jeff makes each visit like dining with a friend who knows all the right things to say.
Anh Chi Em is brilliantly understated and my absolute favourite. Lunch, dinner, or takeaway, I will choose this Gorgeous Restaurant every...
Read moreARN GEE! AM!! Not sure about the pronunciation, but oh my – the food! It did give me a little squeal of delight. Squished into the small frontage to order, this place was jam packed with two behind the door. The queue moved quickly. I asked about the Bahn Mi and would it be good later? Met with a smiling “NO”. Had a look at menu again. Went to back of queue. Ordered the rice paper rolls and lemongrass beef salad, take away. Other than making rolls oneself, nowhere else in Geelong do you get this lovely balance to the rolls, as in enough herbs and tender meat and fresh greens rolled with the noodles. They were perfect. If you long for proper rice paper rolls that haven’t seen a franchise or a food court, come here. Similarly the salad was well proportioned without filler ingredients. What a lovely surprise! Prices not OTT....
