I've been here twice, to me the vibes all out there's no flow to the place so if you ordering take away there not a designate place to stand that doesn't put you in an eat in patrons space, the first time I went the coffee was weak and the staff member looked like they were having a bad day! Plonked it down yelled out what it was and walked off, the raspberry coconut cake I got was all cake and no flavor, I'm pretty un forgiving with coffee it's a one chance type deal with me, stuff it I won't be back! Anyway lost my headphones and the tracking on them said they might be there, so I went to ask and figured I'd give it another go while I was there. Monte Carlo was good, again no where to stand diff barrista this time, she was slammed 8+ orders on the go. She asked another staff member who was not social distancing to assist serving, this staff member yelled a response in my face as she was turning to assit, had coffee with and extra shot this time was way to strong won't be back here, incidentally I also go to the one in the city there is a female staff member there that is friendly and accommodating however the tall male staff member there again looks like he hates his job, overall based on the locations of these places I'll go to daci and daci next time! There staff have had proper customer service training and their...
Read moreIn the grand scheme of things I really just rocked up to Tazzy. I would imagine J and R set a standard in this town. It feels a bit old worldy and when introduced to it, it was was by people that don't accept anyyhing but real cream and homemade jam with their tea.
I'll say this though, Nathan, the guy who works behind the counter at the Newtown branch, could probably do with a raise. The rest of the staff work hard but you know when somebody adds a little theatrics to service that they are a seasoned vet, and he is.
As for the food? I doubt this surprises anyone but it's totally excellent. I would give a special nod to the carroway seeded rye bread and the Apricot cream cheese Danish. That bread is exceptional with pickle and cheese.
All in all Hobart is lucky to have the place. Come get a little vitamin D out the front sometime and drink in...
Read moreBeen here a few times and it’s been alright but today was a big miss. First of all it’s a quiet Monday morning. The place wasn’t busy and there were plenty of staff but they all seemed stressed. I ordered an iced long black.. when it came it was still hot.. then the few bits of ice melted and it was warm. How hard is it to make an iced drink cold. Then we got our food. Had the 5 mushroom bruschetta. The mushrooms were cold and full of coriander seeds.. like so many it wasn’t nice. I don’t mind waiting longer if it means my food is warm. That’s not even the worst part… the rocket. I’ve added pictures. How does someone put rocket like that on a plate and go yeah that’ll do and then how does a server deliver that to a table. Pretty wild. Real bad. Probably will never go back. The custard berlina was...
