I stumbled across this place by accident while going for a stroll a few days ago. Which was fortunate because I had been meaning to contact the owner. Unfortunately, I did not have the brass to drag him out of his office, but I may do in the future..

To thank him. NOBODY in Australia makes baguettes like this. Absolutely A-grade top-shelf bread making, and we are extremely lucky to have a craftsman like this in the hood. I have sampled a few other things, all excellent... but those baguettes are a triumph. Get yourself a few and watch them disappear over lunch with some good friends. Beautiful stuff. Really.

As for the two businesses attached to the bakery itself, I will offer one small criticism. While the cafe is cute and French and perfectly fine. The patisserie across the road seems a bit cramped and shadowed by the trees outside. This might provide much-needed shade in summer but the product being put out here is SO good that it seemed unnecessary to have large shelves restricting the space inside. I only mention it because while waiting in line nobody could move past and the back of the business felt somewhat inaccessible.

Other than that I can only sing it praises. If you want a treat and VERY well-made bread....

Our first time to order their three course meal and were not disappointed! Wish I ordered much earlier. I couldn't resist the roast pork which we haven't tasted actually. But the star for me was the donut! I wasn't keen on it. Based in past experiences, donuts that didn't come from Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' donuts are not great for me. Often, they are hard or just dry and unappetising. To my surprise, the donuts we're fluffy, not so sweet and very substantial. It was a pleasant surprise indeed! Thanks to my honey who had a sweet tooth, as soon as we got home after picking up our orders, he said he wanted to have the donut first and I wanted the quiche. We did have a lot of food at home so I was feeling guilty on our little "splurge" that was really worth it ( note I haven't tasted the roast pork). For sure we shall be back, will take our fussy eater too. He still refuses to eat the ones we saved for him so we will see. Thanks Jean Pascal, you have a new fan! Just hard phoning but be patient, just leave a message and their system works. Hub insisted to ring again to make sure our orders were through. But of course, it just kept ringing so I gave up and I told him, for sure, it's fine and I was right!...

Jean-Pascal Patisserie is a local cafe with a highly-rated reputation, but my experience left much to be desired. The small cafe has limited seating, both indoors and outdoors, and also boasts a shop at the end of the road. Unfortunately, the ambiance was marred by unwelcoming staff and poor presentation.

While the cafe is praised for its high rating, the food proved to be average at best. The ricotta and cheddar tart lacked flavor, and the croissant with grilled bacon failed to impress. The coffee, touted as a highlight, was surprisingly average.

The limited seating area may contribute to the cozy atmosphere. Despite its positive reviews, my visit left me puzzled as to why it holds a 4-star rating. Perhaps others have different tastes, but for those seeking a warm welcome, flavorful dishes, and exceptional coffee, Jean-Pascal Patisserie may not live up...

Although there is a cafe associated with this place my review is all about their cakes. I've used them a few times and have found them to be great. Their cakes are delicious and very reasonably priced. I have never been disappointed. I haven't used the cafe but would have to assume that the level of quality would mist likely be carried through to that part. But the staff deserve a special mention as they have always been friendly and willing to assist. Especially in my case, as I'm fairly bad at deciding when it came to decorating a couple of the cakes. They were able to easily offer suggestions and I was happy on all occasions (as were the recipients of the cakes). Great work people. Will pop in for a coffee and some lunch very soon.
