Glad we have found this restaurant! Very cheap! We had 2 Thai fish cakes, 2 Thai chicken curry puffs, Spicy Noodles with seafood, Stir Fried With Chili & Basil (beef); it only cost us $40. 😇 Staff is very friendly, always had a smile on their faces although they were very busy at that time. Will go there again. Thank you for your service, Team!

For how wonderful the food is, the atmosphere actually is not what we really focus when we having our meals here. Have been here couple times(for lunches and dinners), the Thai green curry still is the best one for me in Hobart. I need to be honest about it, this is one of our best Thai restaurants in Hobart. Visited on 13/07/23

Hands down food is delicious with real meat not like some that use fake meat (tvp or the likes). The service is great too 👍 Definitely my new favourite Thai food place. The premise is old and run down but it doesn't matter as long the food is fantastic, the service is great and the price is reasonable 👌

I had a great experience at Kala Thai in Moonah! The food was authentic, full of flavour, and truly reminded me of real Thai street food. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was — I paid only $10 for a delicious lunch that left me completely satisfied.

The service was friendly, the place was clean and welcoming, and the food came out quickly. It’s hard to find places that deliver both taste and value, but Kala Thai absolutely does.

If you’re craving genuine Thai food without breaking the bank, I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I’ll definitely be coming back! 👏🍜✨

Absolutely amazing take-away. I was really impressed - went there for the first time tonight and tried their spicy noodles and spring rolls. I love spicy food so I asked them to make it 'super hot' - as most places 'hot' is not hot enough for me. They definitely gave me what I wanted.. it was incredibly hot with plenty of chilli, but delicious and high quality. Very tasty. The spring rolls were great too.

Strongly suggest trying some take-away...

If condiments were served as per authentic Thai cuisine, this place would have received a 5 star rating from me. In Thailand, padthai is served with a side of crushed peanuts, chilli flakes and lime wedge, here we only received a lime wedge.
