Customer service was a bit poor and coffees were pretty average, milky, burnt and flat. We went here 3 days in a row, all times did not get ackowledged when we walked into the cafe and waiting at the register. There were 2 men behind in the kitchen and just stared each time talking among themselves and ignoring us. The girl who was making coffees had no hello, welcome or ' just be a moment '. Everyone is taught differently, i was taught to acknowledge customers within 5 seconds of entering so the customer knows that they have been seen. When i had my order taken, she had to ask me 3 times, then twice when making my order and still got our order wrong! She was talking with another colleague while taking the order and making the coffee, which can be distracting for anyone . I paid for what i ordered but i did not receive what i had paid for ( extra shots, soy milk) I didn't bother asking her to remake it again because it would have taken extra time as we waiting long enough and there were other people waiting in line. 3 out of the 12 coffees we brought from there were...
Read moreWhen I and my friend were having our meals there, it wasn't many people in the cafe. The hospitality service is nice and on point, ordered and delivered to the table. The drinks looks fabulous, but the taste was okay, my coffee was quite average, and my friend's moca was bit watery taste, although it looks quite creamy, by that means it didn't taste the coco flavour much, only coffee and water tatse. The food we ordered the same from the menu, my friend had it with bacon, I had it with smoked salmon. The portion looks quite generous, the bacon well cooked. However, the bread wasn't quite fresh taste for me, it was quite dry and not very fresh taste, it was kinda of taste that like you put the bread in the fridge/freezer for quite a while. The egg and the sauce are quite nice. All in all, I gave the cafe 4stars, I hope they made progress in the points I...
Read moreSalt holds, for the moment, the prize for best breakfast in Hobart. I mean it.
I have been there several times and they consistently serve very tasty meals. This morning I had a smoked salmon poached eggs extravaganza. All of it, wonderfully tasty. It says a lot about Salt that they serve the only grilled tomato that I completely ate. Why? Because they are not afraid to insert FLAVOUR!! The greens were beautifully wilted, hidden amongst perfectly cooked potatoes. The poached egg yolk blended with the tomato, the eggs, salmon and tasted like friggin heaven. If I could swear I would. It was perfect. They are the benchmark. I'm adding a photo of the breakfast menu because I was a bit frustrated that there...
