If I could give a no star rating I would. Avoid if you can.
I attended on 19.4.2024 with two others to get our tea and it took 45minutes to get the last of our three meals; a 10 wicked wing combo. (That order made at 9:08pm and food not received until 9:53pm). Before I even left the restaurant my food and the second of three were both cold, with soggy chips, food and box due to the significant delay.
The food was ruined and gross due to the need to reheat.
By 9:25pm two of three meals were ready and We were advised that it would be another 10minutes for wicked wings, at this time fresh cooked chips were requested. At 9:50pm we were told our order will take a few more minutes because our order still was not ready. At this stage we requested a refund on the meal and the last meal was finally provided at 9:53pm.
At the time of our refund request Approx 10staff members magically found the time to come out to the front counter to gawk, and sticky beak as to what was happening and one of the workers loudly said “the wicked wings have been ready for over 10minutes now”.
To make it worse whilst we were waiting I viewed two males enter and seat themselves and received table delivery of meals containing wicked wings without seemingly having ordered (no new online order on screen and they did not approach counter or self service). They appeared to be friends of staff members.
The restaurant was icy cold, had a negative vibe and had dirty floors and Unwiped tables. One worker was emptying the bins and unfortunately passed one bag over the top of the front counter.
Staff had no customer service skills, managers were very rude, all employees had no respect for their job, or the business and were rude to customers, and most were viewed to be on their phones in the kitchen, gasbagging, playing with and fiddling with their hair skin and ears or generally standing around doing not much at all.
The managers that were on to train the trainees need to be sacked. There was no structure or drive initiated by any manager, and there was no communication, or encouragement for them to complete tasks, let alone in a timely manner. Workers were basically left to their own devices and walking around doing nothing. All appeared to be around the same age or closely aged.
Unfortunately It wasn’t just the poor environment, poor management or delay in our food that made the experience bad.
Staff and managers were extremely rude to other customers, one who gave up and walked out after trying to deal with his-order being wrong and i feel bad for the Uber drivers who had to chase up food and/or sides that workers had missed due to the behaviour and attitude they received from staff.
Not to mention The poor metro bus driver, who ordered just after me (approx9:20pm) ended up not getting his food until approx 9:50 after being reassured that it would be ready in 10mins. The delay resulted in him being over his break time, and now late for work he requested a refund also after He approached twice to chase his meal calmly and politely. Staff were extremely rude & condescending towards him with one even snapping loudly and plain rudely “What do you want!”& the lady that processed his return was extremely belligerent. He waited another 5mins for his food only for Staff to attempt to withhold his food.
HR needs to deal with these issues immediately. It’s simply...
Read moreI rolled into the KFC Derwent Park drive-thru with one goal: nuggets. Simple, right? Except, in Tasmania, apparently nothing is simple. I asked for the $8 deals like you get in NSW, and the poor boy at the window looked at me like I’d just asked him to solve quantum physics. He was helpful, polite, genuinely trying his best — but helpless, because he lives in Tasmania, where $8 boxes don’t exist. He shrugged like, “I wish I could help you, mate, but this is Tassie. We don’t get the good stuff.” Truly heartbreaking.
So instead of a neat combo, I got charged piece by piece like I was assembling nuggets on lay-by. And then, to add insult to injury, every sauce was extra. Not free. Not included. Extra. They charged me per dipping sauce like I was importing fine wine. I half expected him to say, “Sir, will you be paying for your Sweet & Sour with card or bank loan today?”
Then, as I pulled forward, I spotted it. The nugget. Sitting on the ground beneath the drive-thru window, glistening like it had just walked out of a bubble bath. Soapy, shiny, and mocking me. I’d just paid full freight for nuggets inside, while this mystical floor nugget was living its best spa-day life for free. Honestly, it was the cleanest thing I saw the whole trip.
The food itself? Classic KFC — salty, greasy, delicious regret in a box. But I couldn’t shake the image of that poor drive-thru kid, trapped in Tasmania with no $8 deals to offer, handing me nuggets one by one while the Colonel laughed from afar.
Verdict: Nuggets tasty, wallet empty, sauces overpriced, drive-thru staff sweet but doomed, and the soapy nugget outside remains the true mascot of...
Read moreWhen placing my order through the drive-thru, the staff appeared rushed and inattentive. Before I could even finish speaking, they were already asking if I had completed my order. At the payment window, my order was repeated back to me incorrectly, despite my efforts to clarify it multiple times.
Upon arriving home—approximately a 15-minute drive away—I discovered that two of the five meals I had ordered were missing their burgers. Given that these were burger meals, it is difficult to understand how such a critical component was overlooked.
I immediately contacted the store and, understandably, was quite frustrated. The staff member I spoke with informed me that they could make a record of the mistake and that I could collect the missing items within 30 days. However, this was not a viable solution, as I had two family members without the main portion of their meals. As a result, I had to make another round trip of more than 30 minutes to collect the missing food.
When I asked whether any form of compensation would be offered for the inconvenience, the manager’s response was, “Well, what do you want?” This came across as dismissive and unprofessional. A simple gesture, such as offering a complimentary drink, would have sufficed, but instead, I was left feeling as though my time and frustration were of no concern...
