Absolutely Disappointing. My wife and I used to always get Mother India take away for dinner, and also used to dine in very frequently. I'm not sure what has happened since the last time, but something has changed, and not for the better. On the phone we ordered 2 Butter Chicken, 2 Plain naan, 1 serve of Samosa and 1 Cheese and Garlic Naan for pick up take away. I asked if the meal came with rice, but the waitress didn't know what I meant, so she asked if we wanted rice. I said yes please. However I wasn't sure if it came with the meal, or if it didn't (spoiler, you pay extra for rice). When we went to collect. The restaurant was empty. However in the bain-marie out the front were huge amounts of papa dams and samosas going cold and crusty. This was odd, as normally you would just make things to order in a dine in establishment, instead of cooking bulk food. Gordon Ramsay would be horrified. When we got home with our order, we found there was only 1 serve of rice (weird, but OK, mistakes happen) 2 crusty, old and cold samosas (obviously just taken from the lunch time tuck shop bain-marie), and 3 naan breads. All of which were under-cooked, cold, flavorless and colorless. I decided to give the restaurant a call to let them know what I had found. Unfortunately the responses I got (probably from the owner?) were absolutely terrible. Customer service out the window, argumentative, blaming me for not knowing how to cook, told to find his mobile number on their website instead of just giving it to me so I could send photos, trying to tell me that "The chef cooked these fresh", "The chef cooked these in the tandoor" etc etc. I understand that's how he cooked them, however they were not cooked properly, and the dough was old and had no rise (you could tell because they were basically just raw pancakes). I was offered replacement Naans (fine, however it would cost me more in petrol to go and replace them), a refund (which wasn't officially offered, I still had to drive to the store and get it) or just to eat the food and deal with it. This just got worse and worse. It was probably lucky that there was no one seated in the restaurant because they would have been able to hear every single word shouted at me from whomever was on the phone. It was actually extremely unprofessional. Normally I wouldn't write such long reviews but I thought that this was a special case. Ive never experienced this before from ANY place in Tasmania, let alone Australia. I used to recommend Mother India to all my friends and colleagues as one of the best Indian places in Tasmania. I've had birthdays there, work dinners, anniversary's and just spur of the moment dinners. Never again.

One of my friend suggested me to try out this place. So, thought of ordering food here and has experienced one of the worst feeling ever. I have placed a pick up order for Goat curry which is dry and sour. In addition to that, I have called them to ask the goat curry ordered was not spicy at all and the veg- Manchurian is tasteless, the chef started yelling out at the front staff who picked up my call, that I am covid positive and thatโ€™s why I couldnโ€™t get the taste of the food. This is ridiculous and I have never seen such a kind of management, if they want the customers to be repeating and happy with their service they need to change their attitude towards the customers and then try to make food which is delicious. I recorded all conversations of that . Not going to recommend at all. At last I felt I they deliberately want the customers to be unhappy with their service.. Donโ€™t ever try this ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป Thanks

The worst dine in experience ever!๐Ÿ˜ฑ We had 2 lamb kormas and a galic nann. We were shocked by the raw meat in one of the curry (see pictures attached)! When we informed waitress. She went to the kitchen and came back to us and said, The chef said, "All the food is fine!" We asked the chef to came to have a look. They replied, ' The chef is busy!' Even though we were the only table in the restaurant at that time. The curry was quite watery and salty and did not taste like a korma or a any curry. The galic nann was not fresh. I had to drink plenty of water after that and ran to the toilet during the night and the next day.๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I visited this restaurant this evening, with a friend. I have a nut allergy I conveyed this to the waitress upon the ordering of my meal. The waitress assured me there was to be no nuts in the food. When the food came out I began eating and immediately felt sick. And I discovered there were almonds in the food. I immediately informed the waitress who was initially helpful although she tried to tell me there wasnโ€™t nuts in the food when my friend could clearly point out almonds in the meal. The waitress compensated the chicken dish. However failed to compensate all accompanying side dishes what were also ruined due to the nuts in the food such as the rice and nahn bread. My friend asked for her meal to be packed up with the rice and her nahn bread. However when getting home she noticed that the rice and bread wasnโ€™t included with her packed up food. We called the restaurant who were extremely unhelpful as the manager at the restaurant told us we must speak to her โ€œbossโ€ for a refund or compensation. She proceeded to give us two different numbers we called both neither number picked up. So overall the experience we had was very disappointing both the negligence of the staff to put nuts in the food and the incompetence of the staff to deal with the issue. We most certainly will not be returning. Mother India should feel thankful I did not possess a extremely serious allergy as I know some people possess. The negligence could have easily killed someone. Thankfully I am not dead just covered in Hives and will be submitted to a a night filled with...

Very disappointed with the treatment I received from a place I regularly get my chicken vindaloo and butter chicken from. Tonight I had to call them to advise that both the meals were nothing like they usually are and had a very strange odour to them and were inedible completely! (To be completely honest, they smelled like stinky feet) I explained this to them, all while stating I've never had a problem in the past, as I always enjoy their meals. I didn't like calling to complain, but, thought best to at least let them know something was wrong with the meals. I wasn't looking for a refund or compensation of another meal. The ammount of disrespect on the phone I received was disgusting, they couldn't even muster up a decent apology for the inconvenience! They kept saying no one else is complaining about their meals so that was it...? Then, mid conversation, they would keep hanging up on me, like I was the bad guy for complaining??? I will never return there and will warn others about their poor/disgusting service! These guys need to learn to take some criticism and not act the way they do to their customers, especially, ones that are regulars! By the way, I kept calling because you kept hanging up on me when I was explaining what was wrong with my meals. Don't try and pretend I was disturbing your business! Maybe next time you'll handle things a little more...
