The Lodge on Elizabeth — Hotel in Hobart

Very very very disappointed☹️ Was expecting to be greeted as per the other older reviews. However, the only greeting was anonymity i.e. the front door lock. It is run like an Airbnb with a faceless service. The new owner has left the old reviews which are glowing when the husband and wife team ran it. He has also left a book on the mantelpiece in which every glowing report of people stays are written. It should be removed because it has nothing to do with how it is being run today. He has owned it since April and is MISREPRESENTING HIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, this is the first review I have ever left as I feel so strongly about it. I feel duped😡 It once was a glorious place with a beautiful back garden. However, this is run down to the max and is overgrown and unkempt. There is no off-road parking and it is horrendous to get a park around here. There is no breakfast. There is nothing but Old...

We live several hours from Hobart and we arrived in peak hour on a Friday night Jeff was so helpful in getting us a parking spot and helping us unload in the rain.||My partner is about to have a knee replacement surgery and Jeff was solicitous and assisted her into the property and up some stairs out of the rain.||All of this with a smile and a helping hand.||We registered with ease and Jeff showed us to a delightfully appointed room on the ground floor with a corner view of Elizabeth and Warwick Streets.||Like Jeff's welcome, the room was instantly warm.||We were visiting Hobart to see a play. ||Jeff assisted with dinner arrangements and gave us the local cab company phone number to make our dining and entertainment run smoothly.||We left early and were unable to partake of The Lodge continental breakfast. ||we won't miss that...

I can't sing it's praises enough. I stayed at the lodge on Elizabeth over dark mofo 2025, and had the most wonderful time. The room was perfectly equipped for the cold, and the furniture and interiors were so lovely and charming. Everything was pristinely clean and cosy.

It was the perfect convenient location for a short walk into town, near lots of great little bars and restaurants too.

Jake who runs the lodge was an amazingly hospitable host. I've never felt so cared for and welcome on a holiday. If you want all the warm welcoming feelings of staying with family, but with all the comforts of lovely proper accommodation then I can't recommend the lodge on...
