Seems like their manager may have just cancelled my online order to upcharge me.
Had a 15% off order coupon through the app and tried to get 24 nuggets. Which was $10.16.
Rolled up to the speaker and was originally told they couldn't process my order (which I made 3 minutes ago) because it was "midnight" I repeated this back to her with a question mark at the end and she said "Oh no, that should actually be fine, what sauces do you want." I see her PROCESS and put this through on the screen, I pull up to the next window where she then asks me to pay again, but now at full price, I told her "the payment should have gone through unless it was cancelled", blah blah blah, "system problem", so I showed the order at the price I was given $10.16 and asked for that to be overridden as that is the advertised checkout price I should be paying, which has never been an issue at ANY OTHER MACCAS ever if their "systems are playing up"
She goes to get the manager and he comes over and goes "Nah, can't do your order" (no apologies) and I naturally ask why? "Because it's midnight, we don't do 24 nuggets after midnight, so you HAVE to get 20 instead" (also keep in mind that I made this order less than 5 minutes ago) so here's number one piece of advice. Never say "HAVE TO" to a customer. Sir. That is not how you under any circumstances talk to a customer. I ask "So can't get 24? That can't be honoured?" (Remember the lady was able to PROCESS my order at the speaker, which tells me it's ABSOLUTELY possible for them to have honoured it) He responds back "No, can't do it, only 20." I cave and go "How much?" And either he doesn't hear me or is dodging my question, so again "Alright fine, how much is 20? this feels like wool over my eyes." He goes "Okay. So 20?" And I respond back asking again "NO, HOW MUCH for 20?" to which he finally gives me a straight answer. "$15.55" which with the runaround feels like he was indeed doing this deliberately.
At this point I'm annoyed at being stuffed around (no apology for it either), told what I "have" to get and feeling deceptively upcharged, so let him know this was a "disingenuous waste of my time." and leave empty-handed.
Look, we went from order in, to that order, but at full price to pay 50% more for 20% less because we don't want to honour the damn order.
This manager HAS overcharged me in the past and I had to ask for him to refund me the difference, he's unapologetic, uncaring, argumentative and frankly, rude.
It's not the first time having an issue here, but I guarantee you it will be the last.
I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this store to anyone.
Even without constant issues with quality or managers the wait times here are arguably the longest of...
Read more1Star because I ended up with no order in frustration. No one deserves a serve so I walked away. Waiting 10 minutes at the Cafe counter. 2nd in line. First one walked out after 5 minutes. Staff working main counter kept looking at me then looking away. Finally person who I assume was shift manager looked, saw me, asked a staff member to "do Cafe" Young man strolls out "how can I help" Placed my order. As I often do when at Kingston. "Sorry. Cant take your order here. Terminal is down. You have to order at main counter" So after 10 minutes waiting I need to get in the line 5 deep at counter.
So am I wrong in my thinking to suggest a sign.... even a piece of paper on the counter advising of thus temporary issue. A 2 cent piece of paper. "Order at main Counter" "Yes we should"
So in frustation I walk out. No serve . No rude Just walk out.
Goes 100 metres to Hungry Jacks. Brilliant quick service. Back to car. Lunch done. Nice coffee. Best Burger Ive had in a long time. So by now 20 minutes have passed so out of curiosity I go back to McCafe. Guess what ?? Heres a lady telling another staff member (in no uncertain terms) that they should have a sign. She had been waiting for ages also.
Im a big believer in "Nobody deserves a Serve" But I equally believe in customer service.

Read moreCrap. I have been coming to this Maccas for years because it's only a small walk from where I live. But never again am I going to this embarrassment of a store. 90% of the time they either get my order wrong or leave something out, the customer service is atrocious (rude, slow, loud and unhelpful) and I've been stuck in the drive through for 20mins or more probably around 15 or 16 times during the night. I think the longest has been 45 minutes. Isn't it meant to be "fast food"? Don't even get me started on the ice cream machine. It always seems to be "out of service", yet whenever I go to other Maccas stores they always seem to be working. Can't believe it has taken me this long to crack it and finally give this crap store and crap workers a bad rating. I won't be back until all these useless, slow and rude high school kids lose there jobs. I warn everybody to keep away from this Maccas. If I could give it no stars, I...
