My friend and I came in this morning for breakfast. Last time I dined here the $12.95 breakfast special was valid prior to 11am. I looked up the menu under the business information on Google last night to view it and this confirmed the 11am cut off. We arrived at 20 to 11 and the instore menu said 10.30am cut off. I could respect this but based on the information uploaded by this establishment, it was still 11am. We asked for the Manager to see if based on this, 11am could still be honoured given that we were basing our orders off of that information (big difference between $12.95 and $20+), but he was disinterested, and quite frankly, rude. He tried to argue that anyone could have uploaded the menu, and that the menu had been changed since (I didn't dispute this, but reiterated that the menu in question was indeed uploaded by them, I showed him what I was referencing). It was clear he wasn't up for a reasonable conversation. If the menu is out of date online (not uploaded by a third party, but the business itself)- change it. It's false advertising and poor marketing to have an out of date menu/information up when someone looks you up and plans their trip in based on inaccuracies. Other people entering the establishment for the first time may seek out a menu prior - this is common practice these days. We would have stayed and amended our orders had the experience with the Manager not been so subpar. An apology and a friendly chat wouldn't have gone astray. I would suggest a refresher in customer service and hospitality for future reference. My friend and I cancelled our order and went for lunch round the road at the Carlyle instead for $12.95. Read moreI have been going to RSC for a while now and this has by far been the most disappointing experience ever. We walked in, were offered a table and menus. We sat down quite relaxed deciding what we wanted and having a chat. I watched another customer come in and be seated and within a few minutes they had coffee delivered. We weren't in a rush but were still waiting to be served . After 10 minutes of no service, I went to the counter and explained we had been there for ten minutes without service. I returned to our table and a young lady came up and said "you should have spoken up sooner" seriously,!!! It is not up to us as a customer to flag down a waitress. Not only is it rude to flag down, it is also not my job when there are staff walking around looking for work. The water bottles that were there for everyone to use were constantly empty but no one bothered to restock these. We also noticed other tables were having to go up and order, and the table next to us said they had to as well. It was even bad enough that the barrista was also serving the drinks. My wife then went to use the toilets and returned immediately as the toilets were in a disgusting state. Overall this experience has detracted from previous good experiences that we have enjoyed. The staff need to be more aware of their surroundings and actually provide the proper service that they were employed for. Read moreWe won’t be back! We have visited Red Square Glenorchy regularly for family brunch and it’s always been a good experience. Today that all changed. We were REFUSED a table for 10 (we have never had this issue before) we were told ‘we don’t do that’ - we accepted a split table. The food was fair, the coffee was awful, my coffee order was incorrect and tasted like burnt milk. The high chairs were filthy and faulty. The toilets had no soap in the dispenser (0945am). The wait staff were as accomodating as they could be, they were very obviously taking direction from a forceful senior (?manager) who has no idea of how to manage a hospitality venue. The music was too loud, the atmosphere uninviting and overall it was a very negative experience, and just to end an already negative experience the wait staff could not understand how to allow me to pay for one of the split tables and merged the two tables on the bill leaving me to pay the entire bill to avoid anymore stress. Needless to say we won’t be returning or recommending Red Square...
