Food was not great… as they didn’t have an avo on toast option, I opted for the 2 pieces of toast with eggs my way - poached. The egg whites on one the egg top were so very raw, but the yolk was overcooked and dry. I added avocado for an extra $5 and it was not worth it at all! The half avocado was not fully ripe and the root bit was left on there for me to chew on… I split the half of the avocado in half for each slice of bread, so now there is a quarter of avocado on each slice, I also added the egg on top and took a pic. I’m no chef but I tried my best to at least make the avo cover the toast, and taste nice. The atmosphere was nice with the tables appropriately separated and instruments on the roof, but nah sorry I won’t be coming back.

Place has great vibes. Coffee was good. They do jazz concerts on the first Friday of every month. Hollandaise for the eggs Benny was a bit tart. The homemade hashbrown was good. Wasn't the best I've ever had but it was ok

Very well priced, generous portion, good service and great taste. It was a perfect salmon bagel with a lot of cream cheese, smoked salmon and fresh garnish. Definitely will be back occasionally.

This place is very close to a 5 star for me, maybe 4.5. it's very different, with a strong jazz theme which I liked, lots of seating and a great menu. Staff were pretty good and I enjoyed the table service as apposed to ordering at the counter.

I ordered the island big breakfast I think it was called, which was very unconventional. Every individual ingredient tasted amazing which was great, however it is served deconstructed which I didn't hate, But it's a bit awkward trying to scoop poached eggs onto everything else without it going everywhere, I would've like having all the ingredients on top the toast. I also think this should come with 4 pieces of toast, not 3. ( 2 for the eggs, 2 for the spreads). The spreads were a nice touch, it didn't really fit with the breakfast but i liked having the jam on toast at the end which ensured I didn't go hungry, once again, I only had one toast spare for 3 jams. Also would've liked to see the jams in little dishes to avoid the plastic!

The coffee was really good too, however I ordered a latte and the two options were a cup or mug. A latte is served in a glass! I'm sure the staff would've been happy to serve this in a glass if I asked, however this should be the standard.

All in all the food was great, staff was great, but just a few small things would turn this place into a...

Felt like we were an inconvenience and saw a rude attitude from one server not only to us , but to others she interacted with. Place was half empty when we arrived , yet was unusually noisy with the sounds bouncing around the hard surfaces with no apparent thought put into acoustics, slow queue to order at counter then waited 30 minutes for a coffee and a tea, when we were advised our GF option from cabinet was no longer available despite there being a few when we ordered. Apparently other orders were in before ours. Food was going out faster than drinks , clearly not enough staff and not enough urgency, especially from 1, 1 Barista couldnt cope with the half filled venue so would be even worse when it actually filled up. It filled up while we waited but they blamed being busy, but it wasnt that busy on arrival and being busy doesnt give you and excuse for being rude.... Clearly need more staff, and maybe different ones too. Also need to review the system as having to wait 30 minutes before getting told what you want isn't available is just poor. The bad attitude also couldn't refund to card.... bit strange as usually it is insisted upon....

What an experience after all these years followed from City.Yes I am sure the owner would not be proud of this cafe today .There was the difference of being efficient and looking busy the later came into play. It took 5min waiting at table so I thought maybe rule change so went to order at counter .No sit down we do table service. After 10.min called staff over to ask for some coffee, as we had been given menu from same female staff member we were told I dont look after your table someone will come soon She continued to try to look busy after another 5min and our break ticking away I went to counter and asked to order He took my order and cash and asked anything else. Our lunch break was nearly over so.no time for lunch.10 more min we asked where coffee was and within 2 min was in front of us.If we hadn't paid def would have left. There is more than the retired that want coffee and need that 30min turn around.Sorry but thumbs down and...
