This is an excellent restaurant that we discovered during a walk around Battery Point. We did not have a reservation and had a 15 minute wait for a table to become available. This is a very popular restaurant. Staff were excellent - friendly, talkative (when discussion was initiated by the customer - they were not intrusive), and knowledgable about their menu. Decor was lovely. The food was exciting and delicious. We tried a few things we normally would not have tried - we weren't disappointed. We also tried a few things that we are used to (and that I use for comparison with other Japanese restaurants) and, again, we weren't disappointed. The salmon sashimi was extremely fresh (just be aware of small bones - this was the first time I had experienced bones in sashimi, it was only 1 or 2). The gyoza was wonderful. The salad was amazing - the char on the lettuce plus the dressing was wonderful. The only very minor disappointment were the Kushiyaki. These were great when brought to the table but they cooled down quickly. They were served on what looked small grills that I assumed were hot but they may have also cooled down quickly. This was partly our own fault due to ordering too much food - we should have asked for it to be brought out in stages. However, this is only a minor quibble and did not affect our enjoyment of the meal. Quality and price of the meal was excellent. I would recommend making a booking due to the popularity of the restaurant (especially...

I had an incredible dining experience at this Japanese restaurant in Hobart, Tasmania. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing authentic flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The restaurant's environment and ambience are simply superb, making it one of the best dining destinations in Hobart. Situated in the finest suburb of Tasmania, the atmosphere is a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort.

However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service provided by Bruce. His professionalism was evident in every aspect of our dining experience. The service was not only timely but also friendly, making us feel truly valued as customers. Bruce's attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a perfect dining experience was remarkable.

In summary, I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional culinary journey. From the delicious food to the top-notch service, this place has it all. A big thanks to Bruce and the entire team for making our visit memorable. I can't...

This Japanese restaurant has the most adorably decorated, cozy interior. You can choose to sit indoors, outdoors under a plastic canopy beside the beautiful Mt Fuji mural, or outdoors unsheltered in the garden. Service is attentive, but the food was a little bit hit-and-miss for us. The sashimi is dull in colour and does not seem very fresh. The gyoza were juicy and tasty. The karaage has an untraditional flavour profile and is a bit dry (maybe it could be served with a bit of Kewpie mayo on the side). The tempura prawns look big but turn out to be quite batter-heavy, however they are tasty. The nasu dengaku is tender, but unfortunately overly salty. Of the kushiyaki skewers, the corn and chicken are OK. I'd recommend the pork belly which was juicy and succulent, and the excellent beef short rib - juicy and fall-apart tender. We ordered a glass each of yuzushu nigori and rien nashi liquor - they are served in heavy Japanese teacups rather than clear glasses which we...

Tasmania trip (last minute as usual due to ever changing covid restrictions 🤦🤣). Christmas day dinner in Hobart at @threejapanese - great Japanese food! The service was a bit slow, but it was a public holiday, and they did what they could 🙂. . Kaki Furai: Deep fried panko oyster with six flavours. We don't normally like raw oysters, but these fried oysters were amazing! Loved all these different flavours!!! . Cauliflower karaage: can't go wrong with fried cauliflower 😅. . Squid karaage: these squid were very nicely done - super tender! . Nasu dengaku: the eggplant flesh was so soft and smooth! Really yummy with the miso sauce on top. . Wagyu beef sukiyaki: the wagyu was really nice! Good quality beef. The broth was a bit on the salty side, but the flavour was really delicious! We were seated outside in pretty cool weather, so this hotpot was perfect! . Kushiyaki: mushrooms, momo, butabara. Nicely grilled skewers 🤤🤤.
