The 1 star is purely based on the attitude of one of the staff members. Went there around 5 and asked if they had any tables, a red haired waitress said they were full which is fine but said there may be seating at the back. I asked her how I go about finding out and she was seeking guidance from a blonde staff member who was almost ignoring the girls existence including mine and rather than answer me who was directly in front of her she chose to answer the other waitress abruptly with “no tables” without so much as gazing in my direction - I was then told by the red haired waitress to go inside and check which I did and the two girls I spoke to at the counter were lovely, advised there were a few tables out back and to make our way there where there are menus etc. there was no one out there so we grabbed a couple of menus and i parked my pram next to a table and was half sat down - the blonde waitress storms in to the courtyard and starts aggressively slamming down what I assume were reversed signs including one on the table I was at and walks off - doesn’t say a word even though I am standing right there at the table. Rather than communicating with us and perhaps telling us which table was available she chose to ignore our existence and stomp around like someone who had no interest in being there or making people feel welcome. We travelled from out of town and this was the first place we decided to try and it left little to be desired - ended up getting takeaway pizzas and a burger seeing as we wasted time being ignored and were hungry which were decent but the whole customer service experience or lack thereof unfortunately ruined everything else and based on this alone we won’t return. It pays...
Read moreSo unfortunate to see this restaurant, which was a favourite, go downhill this badly.
We waited over an hour for our food despite being one of the only tables taken at the time. After waiting 40 minutes we checked in to see where things were and were told it’ll be out in 10 minutes. Fair enough. 10 minutes later two of the pizzas came out, but one had to be immediately sent back because it was seafood, was cold, and had seafood that was still raw/uncooked on it.
After inquiring again about 10-15 minutes later (now an hour and 20 minutes after arriving) we were told it would be out shortly, and the rest of our food arrived.
The pizza (Inverloch catch) was over saturated with oil, the scant bits of seafood were now thankfully cooked and was mostly tasteless. Up until this occasion this has been my go to order for the last few years.
The nachos were equally sad, with what was clearly a tin of 4 beans mixed in with browning guacamole. Who puts chick peas in nachos?
Other than the young man who brought back our re-cooked seafood pizza (who apologised), nobody offered an acknowledgement of what happened, let alone an apology. The managerial staff choosing instead to send their youngest staff to relay the message that food will be coming soon.
We will not be returning to the bayside lady unless we hear of...
Read moreI gave the bayside lady a 1 star because unfortunately you can’t put 0 stars. I came here over a year ago with my boyfriend, it was a cold night to which they placed us at a table outside right at the back. After ordering food we were offered no water, given no cutlery… at this point we were waiting over 40 minutes for our food. I then asked the waitress how much longer she said another 15 minutes. Like we haven’t already waited enough, by the time we got our food they were cleaning up all other customers had left we made us feel rushed to eat. This brings us to the present day, I gave this place another go, yet with my boyfriend and my mum. We were given no cutlery and no water which we had gotten ourselves, my carbonara was hard as the pasta wasn’t cooked properly… my boyfriend had chunks of uncooked bacon on his pizza. I asked for takeaway containers hoping my dog would like to eat it.. my dog ran away from the food. As me and my boyfriend went to the toliet my mum was left at the table as one of the waitresses walked past asking her to leave as she thought she was eating by herself… what’s wrong with that anyway??? And just for the poop on top of the grass, there was probably 2 adults with the rest only children looking like the ripe age of...
