This café might look like an Australian bank in disguise, but don’t be fooled—it’s actually a cozy spot serving up toasties, melts, breakfast dishes, waffles, and more! With plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors (front and back of the shop), it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I tried the Chicken Tenderloin Toastie with avocado, sweet chili sauce, and without the sour cream and cheese, as I don’t take those ingredients. The staff was kind enough to accommodate my request and even checked if I wanted an alternative sauce, concerned it might be too dry without the usual toppings. However, the sweet chili sauce added the perfect balance, so no extra sauce was needed—such thoughtful service! The toastie itself was incredible! I assumed they’d perfected the timing using an oven, but it turns out they were grilled to perfection instead. Crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor—highly recommended!

Maddison in the Valley Café is an absolute delight — a must-visit spot when you’re in Kangaroo Valley. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warmth and genuine country hospitality. The setting is cozy and charming, with a beautiful view of the valley that instantly puts you at ease. The food is fresh, hearty, and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you’re dropping in for a coffee and cake or staying for a full breakfast or lunch, the quality never disappoints. Their homemade pastries and scones are exceptional, and the coffee is easily one of the best in the area.

Nice local cafe here in Kangaroo Valley. It is quite a busy cafe with an eclectic mix of crowds visiting. The coffee was alright, not the best but not awful. One thing though we asked for dine-in but arrived in takeaway cups. It took a while to bring the coffees out as well, but they were really busy so we’re happy to wait. The pear and macadamia muffin was average, couldn’t really taste the pear to be honest, but the chocolate muffin was very tasty - moist and just right. Looking at the breakfast/brunch others had, we will definitely be back to try them next time.

I'm sorry to leave such a harsh review but I think Maddison really needs to reassess whether or not the cafe industry is right for her.

I just waited from 9:30 to 10:40 to get a cold breakfast wrap and a coffee. If they spent half that time learning how to make a coffee it would have been a coffee that was half way to being of a drinkable standard.

My friend who ordered the waffles directly after me to the moody woman behind the counter was still waiting for his waffles at 11:00 when I had to leave. I assume I will find him there next time I'm in the valley. If you're driving by make sure to give him a wave hello and possibly any food scraps you have on you.

There was no warning from staff that the food and coffee were going to take so long apart from the fact that they were nearly at capacity. No apology from staff for the enormous amount of time it took to get the food and coffee.

Do not eat here. Do not even...

We were on our way down the coast and stopped in for a bite of lunch in Kangaroo Valley. We found the ? to have a quaint appearance and appeal.

Once inside we were greeted by some extremely friendly staff. The decor was well styled and thought out.

We order 4 lunch meals however were given the option of the entire menu form Breakfast to the specials.

We only had to wait a short amount of time before the food came out.

The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I am a big eater so I could always said the portions need to be bigger but everyone else was pleased with their portions and weren’t hungry when we left.

I found the air-conditioning on a hot day to be a god send.

I would recommend calling in for a meal if you’re...
