Food For Dudes — Restaurant in Launceston

We held our daughter's and now son in law Morgen & Jack Avent's Wedding at the beautiful venue of Sen Vinyard at White Hills on February 15th 2025. I booked Ben Chapman of Food for Dudes (el Chapo's) back in 2023, as we were adamant we were not going to miss out. There were lots of back & forth Texts and Emails through out this time organizing & chatting in regards to menu, venue, time start etc. All i can say is, it all went to plan how we discussed. Despite the weather turning cold and the rain finally stopping at 2:50pm, Ben was able to set up and start serving at 6:15pm. The food was magnificent, we went smorgaboard Taco Tuesday on a Saturday evening with El Chapo's. We had 100 guests and then staff that worked, and all managed to be fed and well. It was topped up regularly and the groans of delight coming from the guests was a sure sign, that we had chosen the right format. Despite a grazing Table at 4pm, people were still charging in as the food was just so good, with Ben packing any left over's into containers and storing it in the cooler trailer we provided. I was so busy being the social butterfly there was little interaction between Ben and myself, but there didn't need to be, he had this under control. Before I knew it, El Chapo's was cleaned up packed up and you would not have known they were there. The area was spotless. The highlight of it all was that magnificent Buttermilk Fried Chicken. people could not get enough, and there was plenty and we were still eating it the next day along with all the other goodies left over. I would not hesitate in once again going with Ben @Food for Dudes. Now with their new option of Texas BBQ it would be a hard choice to make. A beautiful relaxed atmosphere , great food, great wine great cocktails and drinks and music. O...M...G! What a great food provider! While I've only been there twice, I've been impressed every time by the quality of the food and most of all, how good it tastes 👌🏻. They're on the pricey range for burgers/burritos/other "dude/dudette foods" but they're definitely worth the pennies you pay! They can operate as a food truck but have a permanent location in Invermay with a fire pot and casual seating to enjoy some amazing food. Have I told you how amazing the food is? 😛 They have online + phone ordering with promotions and menu changes on a regular basis. I live in Hobart and haven't found anyone who compares to these dudes/dudettes so I encourage Launceston to look after its "food truck". The only downside is that parking nearby to the permanent location can be a problem but that'll go away once you taste their food. Unfortunately on our first and only visit it wasn't overly successful. They were so busy so the wait was long, TOTALLY understandable and they worked like crazy to get the food out in a timely manner, they did a great job to keep calm and keep pumping the food out. The chipotle chicken burger was the crunchiest chicken I have ever tasted and quite delish and the loaded fries were YUMMMMMMMY unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the double cheese burger that was ordered. There was only 1 patty which was the first mistake, it was tiny and sadly incredibly overcooked and lacking any flavour. In saying all this if you don't mind a wait (which we don't) and love a good chicken burger and loaded fries then 100% give it a go but if you're after a BIG, FAT, JUICY beef burger I'd maybe...
