Just a quick update guys... last Friday I was at the emergency department again, had no choice but to be taken there... I must say, from the reception, to ALL NURSES AND DOCTORS, THE IMPROVEMENT WAS EXTREMELY NOTICEABLE! Everyone had a polite smile, everyone acted very professional, and surprisingly kind!! Doctors from Egypt, nurses from UK, Australia and Canada, receptionists from Australia, all i can say is WELL DONE EVERYONE! Waiting time was minimal as well. Hospital was clean as, and receptionists were all working, not just chatting and having a laugh and long chats!! Keep up your good work and professionalism. Just made my stay a lot nicer given the circumstances..
Initial review... Well, doctors at the emergency when you have a chance to see them are all really lovely and very professional. Most nurses are very kind too. Its not a 3rd world country we are talking about.. however, Its actually poor customer service for Launceston guys come on now!! What is unacceptable is the 4.30/5h plus waiting time in the waiting area, with a 5 yr old son who has been with extremely high temperature for the past 3 days , has a nasty cough, has passed his dinner time, bedtime, and they tell you is still not an emergency wait longer or go see your gp next week while there's blood coming out of his nose.. Never ever have we experienced such treatment from nurses or receptionists at any hospital in QUEENSLAND!!! NEVER EVER WAS WAITING TIME FOR A NON EMERGENCY PATIENT, THAT LONG, SPECIALLY FOR A CHILD, LET ALONE A KID COUGHING BLOOD WITH CHEST PAIN!! Its an utter joke! And unfortunately I must agree with a few other previous comments, depending on whom you deal with, whoever is on triage and receptionists can at times be so rude and arrogant, ( if you dont like your job? Quit, find one you enjoy doing and brings out the best in you, so you don't act nasty to people who are already unwell and feeling poorly and don't need to put up with your crap on top, but have no choice, because you hold all the cheese&knife..) showing zero empathy nor patience. Not all, but some.. Then the minute you take a seat they resume back to giggles and fun laughter, but were unable to offer a Hi,hello, a smile, when taking to you or taking your personal details...
They forget they are employed because of us, the patients, our taxes pay their salaries... Went there couple of times, and God forbide, I hope, I never ever have to go back there again. I have heart failure, most likely ill end up there one day, but I would rather not, to be honest. Ill rather drive to a different hospital further away if need be, why?? By the time I get the privilege to see the doctor I'll highly likely be dead according to their speed.. their policy is pretty much, unless you are dead or knocking on heavens doors, your aren't an emergency. They forget how fragile human lives are, people wouldn't bother going there and waiting hrs on end if things were all rainbows and butterflies. We all have much better things to do in life than spend time waiting at the hospital for hrs many in utter pain, at risk of catching other infections or viruses on top!! We understand you are all busy with other patients etc inside as well, but to be honest? I have been inside enough nights and times to also see the amount of work many of you ladies do. Many times nurses do a great deal of chatting about nonsense instead of working while patients are left waiting outside in the non emergency waiting area... so please have a little less of an attitude. If you are going to be rude im going to tell you for what it is just as much as well.. after all, we pay your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was diagnosed with severe anemia due to multiple stomach ulcers, with my hemoglobin dropping to 45 at its lowest. On January 20, 2025, Dr. Sai Tip at Health Nexus quickly identified the issue and arranged an ambulance to take me to Launceston General Hospital for emergency care.
Before that, I had visited Launceston Urgent Care, but my symptoms were not initially recognized as urgent. However, once I reached the hospital, the doctors confirmed the severity of my condition and provided the necessary treatment.
At the time, I was working on my online shopping website, EbayZonExpress.com, and I suddenly realized I couldnāt even see the text on my screen properly. This, along with my extreme fatigue, showed how serious my condition had become. Dr. Sai Tip And My wife also and called an ambulance. which just proved how critical the situation was.
I want to express my deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who treated me with kindness and professionalism. Their dedication helped me get the care I needed. However, Iām giving Launceston General Hospital 4 starsānot because of the doctors or nurses, who deserve 5 stars, but because the system seemed too rushed to send me home before I was fully diagnosed and treated.
As a full-time worker l pay lots of taxes and extra for Medicare, I believe patients should receive more thorough care before being discharged. Still, I appreciate the efforts of the hospital staff and everyone who helped me.
Thank you for your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 3-year-old son felt and wound his head around 8.20 pm went to the hospital and some person told us to head to emergency as the hospital front door was closed. Went there and went to the first counter wait for the nurse as she is having a good time with a someone has no emergency at all laughing and all chatting. So i went to the next counter and Asked help from administration desk as they where not busy, but they again pointed me to counter one, I said my son was wounded his head, and again that administration person said āyes but go to counter oneā I was so helpless as my son was just 3 years old. š¢ I don't know why they call its emergency department. We went back to the car and tried to do what ever we can dress his wound. If there are cameras someone who concern about this can check. 18-november-2024 between 8.15 pm to 9.pm. Please try to put some attendants at the front to guide patients with the procedures. Im still shaking because of...
