It was Friday evening. My husband and I wanted to have an enjoyable time after work. We picked this restaurant and was having a wonderful time until the waiter came and said that they had someone waiting for the table and asked us to leave in 5mins. It was about 8pm and I was embarrassed that we were asked to leave while we were 2/3 way through our bottle of wine. We'd purchased the whole bottle of wine along with food, planning to have a nice and an enjoyable time. I didn't know there was a 2hr sitting limit here cos we were there about 2hrs. The impression I had was there were people waiting for a table. Instead of informing them that they are fully booked, they had decided to asked us to leave. We'd decided to be kind and leave so others could enjoy their night. I'd asked the waiter for the Cork cap so I could take the remaining bottle of wine home and finish it there. But then I got told that they weren't licensed to allow that. So, we'd quickly finished what we could and leave. The nice thoughts about the restaurant and it's staff got ruined by the way we were treated. It ruined our evening. Maybe, if I knew we only had 2hrs to sit, we wouldn't have ordered the whole bottle of wine to share between two people. Then we wouldn't need to sit around...
Read moreVenturing into Lima Cantina felt like stumbling upon a Peruvian paradise amidst our wanderings. The vibe was chill yet chic, with a vibe that screamed, "Relax, you're in for a treat!" AnĂbal, our guide through this culinary escapade, not only knew his stuff but also rocked a personality that made us feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the stars of the show. The Lima ClĂĄsico ceviche? Picture a flavor explosion that instantly transports you to the shores of Peru. And the Tiradito de ajĂ amarillo? It was like savoring a piece of art â delicate, yet packed with a punch of flavor that left us wanting more.
But hold onto your taste buds, because the beef anticucho was where things got serious. Tender, juicy, and downright addictive â it's the kind of dish that makes you wonder why you haven't been eating Peruvian cuisine every day of your life.
Oh, and did I mention the Pisco Sour? Brace yourself, because it's hands down the best we've ever had Down Under. It's like a little slice of cocktail heaven in a glass â perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of kick to keep you coming back for more.
So, if you find yourself in Perth craving a taste of Peru, do yourself a favor and hit up Lima Cantina. Trust us, your taste buds will thank you...
Read moreArrived at (what made us feel like) somewhat of an awkward time as the breakfast service had finished (stated 11am and it was 11:20) and was told that we âcouldâ be the last ones to order off that menu. When we said we would like to have a look at the lunch menu, we were told that they didnât start serving that until 12pm. We thought that was fair enough because it was made to feel like our only option, but we noticed the other people who were seated right after us were given the regular menu straight away⌠We decided not to question it and picked some things off the breakfast menu. The food was just fine. It had some great flavours but the pastry on the empanada with corn was super thick and quite dry, the chicharron was chewy and the bun itself was unfortunately a little burnt.
We noticed that tables were receiving regular menu items before 12 which probably meant those tables didnât order much later than us đ maybe keep this in mind if you come here for lunch.
I would like to add that the service from our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant itself has a bright vibe. Iâd skip brunch here but would definitely consider returning to try their lunch/evening menu at some point as I do love...
