My partner and I had lunch there on a Saturday morning last week. I was a bit hesitant to try at first due to how new the restaurant was but I saw it had another restaurant in Mount Lawley with excellent reviews. Lets start with the negative first: (which is the reason why we gave it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5) 1) We felt that the waitress on the day was a bit stressed, ?maybe it was her first day on the job and when we received our dishes, they came in takeaway containers!! We thought it was very strange that when dining in, we would get served in carton takeaway boxes (please see pictures below). We looked at all the other guests' plates and they were served in actual plates (not takeaway!!) This definitely made our impression of the presentation quite poor and also we felt it was a bit rude that we received different treatment compared to the other customers... When we asked at the end if it is customary to serve dishes from the lunch menu in takeaway boxes she responded "yes", and then when asked how come the other people had normal plates, she looked flustered and replied that if we want normal plates we need to specifically ask for them... now it seemed very weird. 2) Another negative point is that the bread and dip came in separately. We were given complimentary bread when we sat down. Then, we placed our order and the dip arrived later on. By that time, we had already finished most our bread and when we asked if the bread that was brought in when we sat down was the one meant to accompany the dish, the waitress responded "yes". When we tried to clarify if that was actually true since we ordered the dip AFTER we received the bread, she then said we would have another bread coming in with all our other dishes... so for a quite long period of time until our mains arrived we had a dip with no bread.... The positive points: 1) the food waa absolutely mind blowingly delicious!!!! So delicious that despite the above not great service, we would 10000% come again. 2) lunch items were reasonably priced and it's also quite filling 3) great selection of desserts!! 4) despite the mistakes that the waitress made, she was still trying her best to be attentive ! TLDR; waitress was inexperienced, likely made mistakes with our order (putting it as takeaway instead of dine-in and bringing out dishes in the wrong order) and tried to cover up poorly however the deliciousness of the food was more than enough to forgive it all. We will definitely come again.

I recently visited a small Moroccan restaurant in Leederville that seems to be a family-run business. The ambiance immediately drew me in with its authentic charm: Arabic rugs, cozy little sofas, and a thoughtfully designed interior that sets the stage for a culinary journey. The music blended seamlessly with the atmosphere, creating an immersive experience that felt like a brief escape to Morocco. While the food and ambiance were noteworthy, a few aspects fell short. The chairs were uncomfortably stiff, and the unwelcome presence of flies and pigeons was a significant drawback. Cleanliness and hygiene should be non-negotiable for any dining establishment, especially one positioned as more upscale with prices to match. That being said, the food was the highlight of the experience. The lamb was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and brimming with flavor. A thoughtful touch was receiving an extra cutlet on the plate, though the portion sizes were still relatively modest. The menu itself is stylish and minimalistic, offering a solid variety of dishes, including excellent vegetarian options. The complimentary crisps and dessert were appreciated gestures that added to the overall experience. However, the crisps would have greatly benefited from a dip, such as a touch of hummus, to enhance the flavor. The staff, while not professionally trained, provided warm and friendly service with a personal, almost homey touch that added charm to the visit. In my opinion, this is definitely the best Moroccan restaurant in Leederville, but I wouldn’t call it the best in Perth. With its flavorful dishes, inviting atmosphere, and thoughtful touches, it’s a great spot—but addressing issues like cleanliness, seating comfort, and small menu details would elevate it to the next level. For now, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a slice of Morocco in Leederville.

Tagine Tapas is one of my most favourite restaurants in WA. I always come here to travel in time back home to the true Arablic flavours of Morocco & the Middle East. The owners of the restaurant are very welcoming and passionate about their customers & delivering top-notch food quality. Their waiters are kind and very cheerful every time I visit. When it comes to the food here, you will need to visit many times to keep up with trying all their signature mains & sizzling tapas/ appetisers. I tried every single Tagine on the menu & my favourites are Spicy Berber Beef, Lamb Afrah, Chicken Tahini, Kofta Merquez, & Mixed Seafood Tagines. Pure bold flavours that punch through your taste buds & takes you to another dimension to forget about all your worries. Their Merguez Sausages, Hummus with Meat, Falafel, & Cheese Cigars are absolutely delicious. They provide you with a choice of Couscous or Rice with the meal, and I am the biggest fan of their Couscous. It suits every meal perfectly! In addition, I tried their Chicken Shawarma & Mixed Grill platters. They are very sizzling and well-balanced with the flavours. The potato wedges that come with the shawarma is so underrated & needs to have its own name on the sides menu. Their Baklava & Moroccan tea are also a must-try! Moreover, they welcome you with free crunchy bread & white bread to use with your dips. At the end when paying, they treat you with a free bonbon as a nice gesture. When it comes to the environment, it is packed with beautiful rugs & paintings across the walls to make you feel you're in Morocco. They play Arabic music most of the time, which takes you to the world of this awesome cuisine. Overall, I seriously never get bored of coming here whether for dine in or takeaway & it always feels like home. Massive thanks to the great owners, the talented chef Mustapha, and the lovely waiters.
