Urban Records — Local services in Leederville

Visited yesterday and wanted to buy 2 albums. Asked if we could pay for them but collect later as going to the movies and not practical to take them there and too hot to leave in the car. Sales guy most unhelpful and said no and said can put in a paper bag for you to carry them! After movies we returned and fortunately they were still on the rack and we took them to the counter to pay. Got a smart arsed comment from same sales person "see they were still here" he was rudely eating with one hand and tapping up the prices with his other hand and then tried to over charge us! . He then just handed them to us, no bag or anything. I felt it necessary to comment on his lack of customer service skills and that he needed to improve on them, got total attitude again in response, Adrian is the worst sales person I think I have ever encountered considering I was a customer wanting to spend money in his store. Leederville is suffering retail wise and the area needs supporting but this guy will drive them away. A shame as Urban Records till now has always been a great store and we've bought items from there many times in the past but will certainly think twice in future.

IT IS GREAT TO SEE SUCH A PRO-ACTIVE RESPONSE AND CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE HE HAS RESTORED OUR FAITH IN URBAN RECORDS. WE WILL BE BACK THERE AGAIN TODAY AND WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THEM. I recently purchased the Pro-ject Audio Music Maker package in an endeavour to improve my home audio experience from my very basic existing kit. First item out of the box was an Impressive little unit, Rotel's A10 integrated amplifier which to my ears is far more competent than one might imagine given its size and price. Packaged along with this amazing unit is the dare I say entry level Pro-Ject turntable, the Prmary E which comes supplied with an Ortofon MM cartridge, of course at a later date this may be upgraded perhaps but for now I’m very impressed with the audio as presented. Final component of the package is a pair of Monitor Audio Monitor 50 speakers The look of the Monitor 50 is a little different from standard bookshelf speakers but I rather like it. The vivid orange colour of the mid/bass driver complements the grey front panel nicely and I have left the covers off simply because I really like the look. Put together very quickly and tested as a whole with a variety of records ranging from Kate Bush to Soundgarden this package quickly proved itself as a worthy purchase on my step up in my foray into hi-fi. Highly recommended for closer examination by all wanting a great home audio setup and I’m hoping Pro-ject Audio continue to produce the Music Maker set for some time to come. My partner ordered a record player for Christmas from here. The day of Christmas one of the parts was damaged. It was my first record player so I didn't know that it usually comes with a spare part.

This was quite upsetting as a few years prior, my mother, for one my first Christmases with my parents divorced, had purchased a record player on Christmas day that broke immediately, set on fire.

Anyways, I contacted them through their Instagram and they answered. Informed me of the spare part and really made my Christmas special.

The fact that they were willing to help beyond the confines of store hours, on Christmas day, it goes beyond my expectations for any business. They are now the only place I EVER go to buy records, just for that reason. Thank you so...
