While I typically refrain from leaving negative reviews, my recent experience at the Coffee Club Logan Super Centre warrants an exception. My family and I decided to grab a late lunch there on Sunday before our trip to Ikea. We checked their operating hours online, noting that they were open until 4 pm with the kitchen closing at 3:15 pm.
Arriving at 2:30, we encountered immediate dissatisfaction. The reception from the staff was lukewarm at best, though I initially attributed it to a potential bad day on their part. Our meal didn't fare any better. One of the toasted sandwiches we ordered arrived with a cold center – the toast lukewarm, the cheese barely melted, the ham cold. It was passable and not worth a complaint, but equally not something you'd expect to pay $15 for.
The fries are another story. They arrived limp and wrinkled, resembling leftovers from a Sizzler buffet rather than freshly prepared.
Initially hesitant to complain, my wife couldn't overlook the sorry state of the fries. She brought them to the attention of the staff, who promised fresh ones in 5 minutes. Strangely, less than 2 minutes later, the same fries were returned to our table, now piping hot. However, it was evident they had merely been reheated, prompting us to decline.
While we were dining at 2:45 pm, we noticed the staff closing the external doors, turning away customers, vacuuming around those customers who were still finishing their coffees.
By 3 pm, all doors were shut – it seemed they were keen on an early closure. Suddenly the snarly attitude from staff made sense, though I would have rather been told that they were closing early and weren't in a position to serve us instead of peddling leftover fries and sandwiches half toasted.
Such disregard for food handling and quality makes me wonder about their practices behind the scenes. We won't eat here again.
For those seeking a Coffee Club with standards nearby, I recommend visiting the one at...
Read moreI am absolutely furious with the appalling experience I had during my visit yesterday.
From the moment our food arrived, it was WRONG. I clearly asked for extra butter on my toast with smashed avo on the SIDE. Instead, the smashed avo was slapped on top of dry toast, and seven cubes of butter were dumped separately. Completely useless. How am I supposed to apply butter UNDER smashed avo that’s already sitting on my bread?
To make matters worse, the portion size was HALF of what I have received at the Browns Plains store, which actually provides proper food and customer service. I questioned why I was being charged $18 for a half-sized plate and was told by the so-called “owner” that it was the standard size and I “just have to deal with it.” Absolutely unacceptable.
The behaviour of this manager/owner was shocking. Instead of resolving the issue, he stood there yelling and arguing with me. He kept raising his voice and repeating that he was the owner and “makes the rules,” while I was literally asking him to just leave me alone so I could eat. Meanwhile, my wife finished her meal and we waited almost another 20 minutes for MY food to be corrected.
No apology. No accountability. No customer care. Just arrogance, excuses, and terrible service.
This place has zero standards — no discipline, no professionalism, and clearly no idea how to treat paying customers. The way I was spoken to was disgraceful. I have never experienced anything like it, and I will not be returning.
Sort out your staff, your portion sizes, and your attitude. This store is a complete embarrassment...
Read moreSuch a major disappointment today. We are frequent visitors and were totally underwhelmed today. Our brunch took over 30 minutes to arrive (after a snappy "We have been busy" from the manager, I ordered fried eggs (eggs benedict arrived) and when the manager put the plate on our table, she threw it down so roughly one of the eggs fell off onto the table. And then we cleaned the mess up. The eggs were dry, as was the bacon - crispy is one thing but this was so dried out), the replacement eggs that arrived were swimming in oil on the plate and I ended up eating very little. There was some confusion over the order - I wanted the Big Breakfast but was served up the Bigger breakfast (which does not appear on the menu but on a board at the counter) and despite my hesitancy, the difference was never pointed out (I don't eat avocado and did not want onion rings at brunch). So overall one of the most disappointing visits to what is normally one of our favourites. Well,...
