I genuinely didn’t think a restaurant could be this bad, but Jolly Good somehow managed to prove me wrong in every single way possible. If I could give it negative stars, I would.
First off, walking in felt like entering a forgotten horror movie set. The place smelled like mildew, and the flickering lights just made it worse. The hostess? A blank stare and no words. I half expected her to hand me a menu with a sarcastic "Good luck."
The service was atrocious—uninterested, cold, and borderline rude. The waiter practically threw our drinks at us. I’m honestly convinced they hate their job. We waited an hour for our food, only for it to come out looking like something you'd find under a bench at a bus station. The curry was a watery disaster—no spices, no flavor, just a sad, lifeless broth. The chicken was so dry, it might as well have been chewing on old leather.
The naan was a crime. It was like they took an old dish towel, slathered it in something vaguely resembling ghee, and called it a day. The samosas? I’m still wondering if they were actually deep-fried in motor oil. They weren’t crispy; they were soggy, mushy, and had the kind of taste that makes you second-guess all your life choices.
And don’t get me started on the "biryani"—if you could even call it that. It was basically some sad, boiled rice with a few sad, overcooked veggies tossed in. No seasoning, no texture, nothing. I’ve seen more flavor in a bowl of plain oatmeal.
The cherry on top? The bathroom was straight out of a horror show. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just let stray animals roam around in there.
If I had to sum up Jolly Good in one word, it would be "disaster." I’ve had better meals from street vendors in the middle of nowhere. This was a nightmare. I will never, ever return. If you value your taste buds and your sanity,...
Read moreAmazing food guys well done. Just one thing that I was really disappointed to see, was the two microwaves and openly being used. Please take this advice from one restaurant owner to another. BIN THEM immediately. There’s no reason in the world for a microwave to be in any kitchen. The food was delicious you don’t need them and remember those stupid microwaves kill flavour and nutrients. Excuse me if any offence is taken, however you really could elevate the restaurant to a higher standard. As soon as you walk in as an open kitchen the customer MUST see a super clean tidy kitchen with NO MICROWAVES, fresh ingredients about and lastly some uniforms and aprons for any staff around food.Thank you again! It...
Read moreWe have dined at Jolly Good probably 20 times in the last couple of years, plus had takeaway food maybe half a dozen times, so I feel qualified to offer feedback.
This is the best Indian food I have had in Australia. I lived in the UK and there were many fantastic Indian restaurants there, this is just as good as anything I experienced in the UK. In particular the fish curry house speciality is fantastic, the eggplant aloo, our kids adore the butter chicken and the korma. The kashmiri nan (you have to like sweet) is brilliant too.
It's not a fine dining experience - it's a down to earth, wysiwyg experience with great food and genuine people. The Entrance needs restaurants like this, keep up...
