ANDA THAI RESTAURANT — Restaurant in New South Wales

The previous reviews made us wonder if we were in the right place. Staff was friendly enough and the ambience was fine but the food rated as one of the worst Thai we've been to. We had pork skewers with Thai herbs but were unable to find a trace of herbs or flavour apart from meat. Curry puffs were very ordinary with thick crusty pastry. The basil and chilli prawns had not a trace of basil and while we were assured the prawns were cooked with the stir fry, they tasted and looked pre cooked, brightly coloured as you'd get in a supermarket. There were 6 prawns, TWO small bits of broccoli, half a dozen little bits of beans, lots of carrots, a mass of thick cut onions and a lot of chilli and all of this came to nearly $20. Tonight I ordered delivery from Eleven Thai in Long Jetty for dinner. We are trying to support local once a week especially during lockdown. My daughters pad see ew was so spicy she couldn't eat it. When I contacted the restaurant I was told we don't know the difference between capsicum and chilli even though I grow my own?! I explained that I didn't want free food I just wanted food my child could eat and then was told it was really inconvenient to make another meal because they were busy but I could go get one later. Really?! This is food for a 6yr old who has been excited about her pad see ew all day!!!!! I'm so upset, I then had to eat my dinner while cooking her a meal that I could have just done in the first place. I just want to let people know because it was such a horrible experience and there are so many good restaurants to try...

Eleven Thai is a fantastic restaurant and well worth a visit. The modest room is simply laid out, nice and clean with enough space to cater for a few larger groups as well as smaller settings. They do take-away and eat in. The dishes are reasonably priced, and I felt very flavourful. Next time I visit I'll be venturing outside my normal dishes to experience some of the other options on the menu. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and very helpful. Service was prompt, even as the room filled up with bookings and walk-ins. They are a BYO restaurant, with a good range of soft drinks for sale.
