went to this restaurant for chinese food and when i got there i picked up a menu and started looking at their selection. a white girl came over and asked me what i wanted. i asked whether they did take away and she said yes! so i said something like ‘cool’ or ‘awesome’ and looked back down at the menu. after a few awkward seconds i look back up and tell her i might be a while deciding to which she responds “all good” but keeps standing there. i look back at the menu and try to choose something; although it’s hard with someone staring at me. the people at the table behind me then loudly drop something and i realise they can feel the tension. the chinese lady even comes over and asks the white girl a question but she still doesn’t take the hint and remains standing. i decide to ask her “do you have a bathroom?” to which she responds “yes but only if you’re ordering, sorry!” outraged, i say “obviously i’m going to order”. she doesn’t even answer and turns to her right to do something. i ask which way the bathroom is and she gives me directions. when i come back out she’s serving customers so i sit down, happy to have a moment on my own with the menu. then i realise the universe has given me a chance to leave! so i check one more time. she’s out of sight, so i leave and order chinese from another place 100...

On the recommendation of a client, we dropped in the Chopstix, Long Jetty for dinner. Its small, but open plan with a view straight into the kitchen. Decorations and lighting are basic, but okay. It is unlicensed, and we are unsure if BYO is okay. We found the menus a little confusing as they are not your usual style for a Chinese eatery. This is a sister restaurant to Chopstix Avoca Beach. The waitress drew our attention to an illuminated display which featured various noodle dishes. We opted for pork dumplings (6) for entrée and Mee Goreng and Tom Yam for mains. While waiting for our meals a constant stream of people collected take-aways, while the delivery driver was also in and out. It’s a hive of activity and the 2 kitchen staff are constantly on the go with all the associated noise from an Asian kitchen. Our dumplings were tasty and accompanied by soy sauce for which we asked for chopped chillies to spice it up. Our mains arrived after a brief interval and we found both were delicious. From our viewpoint, the taste, texture, and balance of each dish was good. We found the food quality was the best Chinese style in Long Jetty/ Entrance area. The bill totalled $37 – excellent value as the serves were more than we could eat. We will...
Read moreOh my my my, who would have thought I’d find this hidden gem right here on the Central Coast! My hubby and I were craving Asian food, and this place did not disappoint. The prices, compared to Sydney CBD, are more affordable!
Everything we ordered was superb, but the star of the show was the seafood omelette—so incredibly good that we wanted to grab another one for takeaway before heading back to Sydney at lunchtime. We checked Google, and it said they only opened at 5 PM, so we ended up went somewhere else instead. But as we drove past, we saw the restaurant was actually open for lunch! A little frustrating, but at least now we know for next time!
Restaurants owner please update your opening hours. One other thing to note: their dine-in prices are a few dollars higher than takeaway, so keep that in mind when ordering. But honestly, with food this good, we didn’t mind paying a little extra for the experience. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-visit for an amazing...
