Henry M's — Restaurant in Manning

So happy that Henry M's moved in to the Welwyn shops! The coffee is consistently excellent and the staff are SO friendly. Shoutout to Flo who not only makes the best coffee but also makes my morning! The coffee is VERY well-priced compared to lots of other local cafes I have been to and paid $7+ for a wildly inferior large soy cap.

We also went for dinner a couple of weeks ago to celebrate a birthday. The sharing plates are delicious. We had the kangaroo special, the beef and lamb dishes which were outstanding, but the carrot houmous was my stand-out dish! The chefs are superb and the presentation is so elegant.

The ambience is smart without being pretentious and the staff are knowledgeable about wine pairing from their impressive selection. We took the kids who were well-catered for and even though it feels more of a kid-free dining experience, they were made to feel super welcome with colouring, a special menu and ice cream with sprinkles!

We have been here to dinner before once and had a lovely evening so we returned yesterday for dinner. The menu was very very limited. No steak on the menu just a steak sandwich. My partner had Chicken Parmigiana .Just a small portion with only a large pile of chips. I had a salmon salad quite nice with tinned salmon. No other choice for me available. Entre was brought together with our mains.I wish I had taken a photo of the menu because it was nothing like the advertised menu. Told No wine list until I went to the outside bar and found one then told most on list not available. We bought a bottle of SSB $50. We didn't drink it all and said we would take the remainder home. Told NO. It was illegal. We had to leave our 1/2 botttle behind. Stunned. Management needs to be aware that under the licensing Act S110(6A) we can take the remainder of purchased bottle of wine home. The lady was extremely rude. The whole evening was most disappointing. Henry Ms in sleepy Manning once felt like a pleasant surprise but now feels like a disappointment. I've always visited the cafe daily when over from Melbourne just to order a batch brew. Last week the barrista refused to make me a batch brew, saying they are only available weekends.  This isn't indicated on the online menu, it hasn't been the case before,  and it was disappointing to go all the way to the cafe in the morning to be declined. I don't believe the argument holds up that it takes too long to put a batch brew on, and I would say from observation that the cafe is far from so bursting with customers that it's any busier than cafes that CAN offer a batch brew during peak times. But I wouldn't bother writing this review and to make such an issue of it if it wasn't for the cold, unfriendly and ambivalent manner in which this particular barrista communicated this.
