December 2023 - 2 Stars Really hoped this would be my regular morning coffee stop and go to Vietnamese restaurant but was astounded when I asked for a bacon and egg roll ($9) but to change the bread roll to a wrap... it was as if I asked for their first born... the girl on the counter kept offering the hash brown and cheese b&e wrap. I kept saying I just wanted a b&e wrap. I explained I don't mean to be difficult but is simply swapping the breadroll for a wrap.

So ignoring that, she kept going through the menu and said we can order the b&e wrap 'with cheese' ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ and just not add cheese ($10). Very awkward and I was about to walk out.

So I get the b&e wrap 15 minutes later (no other customers before me) and instead of charging me the $9 I was charged $10???

Sorry owners but I am never returning here and recommend people go elsewhere if you can't offer a switch from bread roll to wrap, then, act like I have two heads for asking! Penny pinching too.

Note: From last visit the Viet food was good. Just the behaviour today turned me off

November 2023 - 5 Stars Great Viet Cafe! Best thing were the bubbly energetic staff on the counter. Pho was good, bahn mi so so. Nice retro decor with motorcycles and cool car posters and photos. 5/5...

We visited this cafe while spending the day shopping in Maryborough. Overall, our experience was pleasant although nothing spectacular.

We ordered several meals - Eggs Benedict with bacon, chicken/cheese/avo toastie, French toast with bacon, and all were okay. The eggs on the Benedict were closer to hard boiled than poached, however, which was disappointing. On a positive note, even when including several coffees and a banana shake, the bill was very low. This business is very well priced.

The service was run-of-the-mill. Although nobody was rude or unpleasant, nobody was overly chatty or friendly either. They were going through the motions, nothing more. Also, one staff member decided to start sweeping the floor beside us as we ate. Never a great idea and, although we weren't too bothered, others may not be as accepting.

In summary, this cafe met our needs and filled our bellies. Would I eat there again? Yes. Would I go out of my way to visit...

Got a pho with a viet ice coffee. The pho was the worst pho I've ever had. It was worse than the instant pho you'd get from woolies. Soup had none of the flavours you'd expect. Literally tasted like salt and pepper. There shouldn't even be pepper in there and yet that's all I could taste. Waaaaaay too much pepper. Where were all the other spices? Clove? Star anise? Cinnamon? Cardamom pods? Fish sauce?? Beef stock??? Sugar??? MSG???? Wasn't given lime or lemon with the dish either. The beef was some sort of strange cut that started out grey and became greyer... I wouldn't pay $5 for that quality let alone $17 Ice coffee on the other hand was probably the best I've ever had outside of Vietnam. You guys need to promote that one more cause ooft. Would come back any day for that coffee but u guys need to...

Authentic Vietnamese Food. I love the beef pho with tender meat, fresh soft rice noodle ( many places use dried noodle), and fresh herbs. The pork bun was nice and soft. The chicken was crispy with a very good dipping. Little gem inside Maryborough. Vietnamese coffee taste exactly like back home. I don't think Hervey Bay has Vietnamese restaurant this good either.
