I have edited this review as of 2nd May 2025 as my previous one, though overwhelmingly positive, was almost a decade old.
How do I put my fondness for this restaurant into words?
When I first discovered this place, me and my wife at the time would choose to dine in or take out from Indian Diamond at least once a week. She's now an ex, but Indian Diamond is forever.
I once did a Keto-diet for a while and lost 12kg. I ended it abruptly because I craved Indian Diamonds rice. That's it, just their standard rice. I didn't crave carbs I craved Indian Diamond Rice.
They opened a pizza extension. I have never tried their pizzas because despite wanting to, I love Indian Diamond curries so much I can't order anything else. If I'm in the area, my stomach and tastebuds are reaching for the awesome flavours they already know.
I have had family from europe come to visit australia and want to try great australian food. I take them to Indian Diamond.
Hearing Indian Diamond is for dinner has the same effect on my kids as if telling them we're skipping school and going to DreamWorld. Everyone's instantly happy.
In seriousness, this restaurant has delivered consistently delicious, aromatic meals, well within suitable time-frames and pricing.
I am not affiliated with Indian Diamond in any way, just a local chef giving credit...
Read moreWe had a dine-in dinner and ordered a Beef Biriyani, 2 chicken Biriyani, 1 garlic nan with fish masala and 4 masala tea.
Experience: We weren’t asked whether we would like to sit outside or inside, instead we were asked to sit outside though it was cold. I’ve seen waiter taking orders at table for some (inside). But, we were told to order from front counter.
We ordered through the counter and waiter noted it correctly at that time and we sat inside letting them know. We weren’t even served with water and after a long wait, we got everything we ordered except Beef Biriyani. Again after 10 more mins or wait, we still didn’t get the beef biriyani. So, we went to the counter and enquired to the owner. He told us that we didn’t order beef Biriyani, then we ordered it again.
Taste: Masala Tea- was good and I loved it. Garlic Nan with Fish Masala - nice combo, Nan could be made softer, though fish masala tasted yum. Chicken Biriyani - was okay, not the best, but a safe choice to have. Beef Biriyani - not so recommendable, I’ve had much better...
Read moreMy experience at Diamond Indian Restaurant was deeply disappointing due to the poor customer service. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the front staff were ill-prepared. They had no knowledge of the items on the menu, and when we asked basic questions, they were unable to provide any helpful information. Additionally, they seemed unsure about the restaurant's opening times, which was frustrating.
After finally managing to place our order, the wait time for our food was excessively long. When it did arrive, the food was lukewarm at best, and certainly not worth the wait. To add insult to injury, the overall experience was overpriced considering the lackluster service and quality of food.
For a restaurant that promises a great dining experience, they fell far short of the mark. I would not recommend this place if you expect competent service and value...
