Unfortunately, I went in and ordered take-away from O-Palace - lemon chicken, special fried rice, singapore noodles. The battered pieces of chicken were well done, but bland. The lemon sauce had pineapple pieces in it which overwhelmed any lemon that may have been in the sauce. The fried rice was so-so, a bit light on for ingredients, and flavourless. The noodles were soggy, again, light on for ingredients, and any real degree of flavour. All very homogenous looking, and unappealing. All in all, very disappointed with what I bought. We did receive complimentary prawn crackers, but they needed to be cooked in fresh oil, and drained better. But nothing could really make up for waiting well over an hour ( and I am being generous in my time keeping) for my food. Seeing people seated, after I had ordered, and receiving plate after plate of food, was a bit galling. Being caucasian seemed to make me, and four other take-away customers invisible, except for the odd apology made during my wait. The wait staff were lovely people. I understand the kitchen was short staffed. But maybe you shouldnt have opened tonight. Or not taken...
Read moreThe meal I had at this cozy, small establishment was both satisfying and flavorful, exceeding my expectations. The roast duck stood out with its perfectly crispy skin, and the meat was tender and juicy. Served alongside fresh greens and flavorful dipping sauce, the balance between richness and freshness was excellent. Each bite was full of depth, making it a delightful experience.
Equally impressive was the truffle fried rice, topped with vibrant roe for an extra burst of umami. The rice was well-seasoned, cooked to the right texture, and had a subtle truffle aroma that added a layer of luxury to the dish. The egg and bits of green onion complemented the rice, making it a complete and harmonious meal.
Despite the restaurant being relatively small, the service was attentive. The staff ensured a smooth and pleasant dining experience, and the prices were quite reasonable considering the high quality of the food. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking delicious, well-executed dishes without...
Read moreYou know the Chinese food you use to get from 1980s that were just amazing and massive servings. This place reminds of that, most Chinese restaurants are not great let’s face it. This 1 is in my top favourites the food speaks for itself the beautiful sweet and sour pork and the lemon chicken really hit the spot of what Chinese restaurants have lost over the years and now hard to come by. The curry puffs were perfectly made again crunchy with a beautiful centre not to spicy. The chicken and corn soup might have been slightly too thick but it didn’t take away from the flavour. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed with the food or the size of everything. Thank you for a...
