Miserable and rude customer service.
Just came to eat here with my family and spent around $70. To start, we didn’t feel very welcomed and the staff that took our order had an attitude ‘I know better than everyone else’.
We requested a normal cheeseburger, a vegan cheeseburger without sauce, a bacon burger (that I asked to swap to vegan mayo and vegan cheese and the staff said ‘no issues in swapping’) and a truffle burger.
we weren’t told that there was an extra charge for the swapping. While understandable, the minimum would be to actually disclose it and confirm with the customer ‘that’s an extra charge, is that okay?’ versus just saying ‘yes, we can swap’ the supposed to be ‘normal cheeseburger’ for my dad came in the receipt as a vegan cheeseburger, overcharging us unnecessarily and actually being the wrong burger we ordered. It came labeled CB SAUCE. The supposed to be ‘vegan cheeseburger without sauce’ for mum came in the receipt with no sauce, no ketchup, no pickles (when we actually said pickles was okay, twice). It came labeled as VEGAN CB but actually came with sauce.
When asked the staff that we ordered from (a young blonde girl) she not only said she didn’t believe us and was sarcastic about it, but also rude and made us uncomfortable when she was actually the one that 1- made a vegan burger for my dad and overcharged us and 2- removed the pickles but left the sauce for my mum’s burger. We showed proof with the wraps from the burgers and still half uneaten burger and she stared at us in disbelief still and was rude asking ‘what do you want then, is it the $1’.
I work with hospitality and this was one of the most poor, rude (and embarrassing for me) experience considering my family is visiting and I thought we were supporting a local business. Definitely an uncomfortable and disheartening experience with such lack of care and professionalism.

Read more300 Grams in Richmond is one of the best spots for coffee in the area — a café that keeps things simple but delivers with absolute consistency. It’s the kind of place you quickly make part of your daily routine, whether you’re grabbing a takeaway on the way to work or sitting in for a moment of calm.
The coffee here is excellent. Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, every cup feels carefully made. The baristas know their craft — shots are pulled with precision, milk is always textured just right, and the end result is a brew that’s reliable and full of flavour every single time.
Alongside the coffee, the food offering is compact but spot on. The sandwiches are generous and fresh, with just the right mix of quality bread and well-chosen fillings. Perfect for a quick lunch or to pair with your morning coffee. There are also light bites and pastries that round out the menu nicely without overcomplicating things.
The space itself has a modern, minimalist feel that’s welcoming and relaxed. It’s clean, unfussy, and has the kind of casual vibe that makes it easy to pop in and out. Even when it’s busy, the service is quick and efficient, and the staff manage to keep things friendly and approachable.
What makes 300 Grams stand out is the consistency. You know exactly what you’re going to get: great coffee, good food, and service that’s fast and reliable. It’s not trying to be over the top — it’s just doing the essentials really, really well.
For anyone in Richmond looking for excellent coffee and a solid bite to eat, 300 Grams is a local favourite that never...
Read moreGood, but ordinary. Nice, but fine. Those were the thoughts that were running through my mind when I dined at 300 Grams in Richmond.
That is to say, there was nothing 'bad' about my meal. But there was no pizzazz or je ne sais quoi about what I ate. Dare I say this reminded me of a fish & chip shop burger.
A staple of any fish & chip shop is the classic 'burger with the lot'. Everyone knows it, it usually has the same ingredients as your standard cheeseburger, but with egg, beetroot and bacon. The Norfcote (double) burger, which is what I got, is as they describe, their 'answer to "The Lot".
The thing is, is that to me it's basically just the 'The Lot' and not much else. It tasted good, like a good burger from a good fish & chip shop. But as critical as this sounds, I don't go to a burger place for a fish & chip style burger. But looking at the rest of the beef burger menu, I didn't see any real variance besides the standard and simple cheeseburger, beef 'n' bacon and the burger with the lot (which is the Norfcote burger).
This is just my opinion, and 300 Grams can take it with a grain of salt if they want, but they should have different and more unique tasting burgers. For example, a spicy burger with jalapenos, hot chilli + mayo sauce, avocado, battered fried onions, capsicum, cheese, lettuce, and bacon. Something that's different, something that can appeal to a wider range of people.
Again, there was nothing bad about the burger I had. But it can be so much more. Why not try something a bit more daring? Just...
