A revisit to @adozenadozen.mel in reference to the main ingredient of their beautiful fluffy pancakes, celebrating their first birthday just the other week. . đ„ŹUnexpectedly we discovered a savory dish on the menu and a crowd pleaser, the OKONOMIYAKI, inspired by the Japanese cabbage pancake topped okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, seaweed powder. The sauce combo is all things sweet, savory & packed with umami flavor, well balanced and delicious. From memory none of the other souffle pancake places have a savory option. . đNext we had the seasonal, limited edition, always a delight. Earl Grey & Apple - Earl grey tea flavoured cream, poached apples, crushed biscoff cookies and cinnamon. This is the perfect winter dessert, with balanced flavours and a mix of creamy smooth textures, that biscoff crumble and soft though still crunchy apples. We need this as a crumble dish. Earl Grey was an unexpected flavour and beautiful one. . đ«Dark Choc - Homemade chocolate custard, hazelnuts, chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, banana. For chocolate lovers this is the one, while being dark chocolate it's not that strong nor does it slide towards milk chocolate, but sits perfectly balanced towards the dark but not too dark side. . đčLovely souffles isn't the only thing adozen serves, they also have a range of pretty and unique drinks like yuzu tea/soda, grapefruit soda and a rosy passionfruit iced tea, which is on the light side in sweetness, while the grapefuit soda is more of our thing. . Soft, fluffy jiggly souffle pancakes this is definitely a must try dish. We love them so much that we've been to all four places in the city, and this is a favourite with dine in options. Service is always friendly, and we recommend going on a weeknight to avoid waiting as they are made fresh. . đ„@adozenadozen.mel...

đAdozen Adozen đ New seasonal menu: Taro Trio souffle pancakes with mascarpone cream, taro crumbles, ice cream, sauce, and fresh taro chunks. #invite
Finally trying Melbourne's viral fluffy jiggly pancakes!! (which I lowkey suspected weren't pancakes but rather clouds) They're light and airy, easy to eat, and perfect for brunch or dessert.
There are various flavours ranging from sweet to savoury - there's something for everyone! I really liked the savoury okonomiyaki pancake! It's perfect for lunch! While the sweet pancake was nice, sweets are personally not my favourite. The balance of sweetness was nice, not too sweet, featuring different depths of taro flavour and textures.
The plating is pretty and aesthetic - a very photogenic dessert spot!
We got the yuzu basque cheesecake. It was smooth, creamy and rich with a light texture and didn't feel heavy or overpowering. It's on the heavier side, but tastes fresh because of the yuzu jam, and there is a creamy cheese flavour with a subtle and clean sweetness.
Drinks were good, especially the honeycomb latte. The dalgona bits melted nicely into the latte but still with a little crunch and the caramelized sugar was a nice touch. The fresh fruit tea is refreshing too! Perfect for warm summer days!
Adozen Adozen is definitely worth checking out, especially if you go around 11am to 1pm. While there are some people, there isn't much of a crowd at that time, and you won't have to queue for long. It's also near the University of Melbourne, a good place to stop by in between classes?

Read moreNot a sweet tooth per say but that's what makes these 5 star worthy. Eating Japanese souffle pancakes for the first time was a delicious venture because the pancakes and toppings are only as sweet as you want them to be.
With sweet or savoury options and photos to match (thanks to the QR system) I actually couldn't choose what I wanted because the photos made them all look so good!
The pancakes were made to order, producing the ultimate in fluff and jiggle.
Impressed by the light and eggy taste of the pancakes themselves, the chewy mochi and strong matcha flavour in the mochi matcha was good but it was the decadence of the double chocolate whipped cream and chocolate icecream combo in the dark chocolate that I preferred. Neither were overly sweet which again impressed me more.
The only way to describe these pancakes are that they were just so souffley!! And you don't get just one.. but two of them (which I'm told is a rare occurrence on the hunt for the best Japanese souffle pancakes in Melbourne - rival establishments fold one in two.. just FYI).
And an absolute must order is the yuzu cheesecake slice not just for the Instagram-worthy drag of the fork but for its rich yet sweet, soft and superior lemony taste.
The place is clean, well kept and an easy place to sit and chat for a while with no interruptions. But when you do want to get someone's attention, the servers are attentive and kind. I really enjoyed my time here and will...
