I have never made a negative comment about  small detail of a restaurant before. However, it was absolutely unacceptable that I experienced  yesterday night in our local pizza restaurant, Boss Pizzeria. I have been there  with my family and friends several times since it opened in Camberwell. Last night, two of my friends, my friend's 17-year-old daughter and my 4-year-old daughter, made a reservation to go there. First we agreed to sit outside but then we asked if we could sit inside because the weather was so cold. They were uncomfortable with five people sitting in the restaurant.  Although my daughter mostly sat on my lap, the staff was very uncomfortable with this, and served with the longest face I have ever seen. When we asked for the bill, my friends gave me their cash and I wen to cash register and I said  I would pay half of the bill in cash and the rest of the bill with card. I really  couldn't understand what was happening at the time. The owner heard me and involved our conversation. He and the staff were so angry at me.The staff and the restaurant owner said at the same time that they would definitely not split the bill. They told me they had mentioned this to me many times. All these happened in front of the other customers. Although I sometimes ate burnt pizza with the wine like vinegar there,  I still didn't feel the need to comment. But I think...

We were a group of 3 mums and 2 children to celebrate the end of VCE exams for our friend's daughter. We are locals and come here often for family celebrations. However, tonight we were treated so badly that we are in still shock and we will never be going back. We asked for the bill and worked out amongst ourselves what we each owed. Two of us had cash and gave this money to our other friend. She then went to the cash register to pay the bill using the cash and her credit card for her share. My friend was verbally abused in front of other customers by the waitress and the owner of the restaurant who said that they have told her before that they don't split bills. At no point did we ask for them to split the bill! My friend approached the register on her own to make the payment, half in cash and half by credit card. We weren't standing around the cash register taking up their time and trying to figure out what we each owed. We did this at our table amongst ourselves. If they found this payment method so inconvenient they could have told us in a less abusive way. What a way to treat a customer! I have never felt the need to write a negative review for anything before but I have never ever walked out of a restaurant feeling so upset. What was meant to be a nice night out to celebrate a milestone event turned into a really awful experience. We will...

Boss is a gem. Everything about the place speaks to the exceptional passion for quality - ingredients, the base, the wood fire, the wines, the starters, the deserts. It's for the purist.

Which is why it is fascinating to read these reviews - the curmudgeonly Herschell Renee and Harry Gabelich are particular highlights. Herschell or Renee, "flower" is the attractive reproductive part of a plant often presented in vases to liven up a dull room, while "flour" is what dough is made from. You should probably buy "flower (sic) and water" and make your own pizza if you feel that the cost of the raw ingredients is what you should pay. Your next car could be very cheap indeed on that basis as a pile of metal, plastic and rubber. And Harry, I've covered you before in my older profile which I am delighted to refresh here. I was sitting at the window that night when your mum and her friend tried to open their own bottles of wine under the table and argue about paying corkage, an event I remember well. Corkage, by the way, is " the charge made by some restaurants for allowing customers to drink wine that has been bought from somewhere else" - it is not related to the presence or absence of a cork in the bottle. Oh, and I don't recall you being at the restaurant that evening, which makes your review...

Fantastic pizza and friendly service! Boss Pizzeria is clearly a hit with the locals. On a busy Friday night enjoyed the outdoor setting and great food. The baked ricotta was very tasty especially when combined with the olives & caramelised onions. The pizzas were absolutely sublime, especially The Boss and the Doppio. Don't forget to add their house made chili oil for some kick and save room for the homemade Italian donuts. The custard was phenomenal. Especially loved the coffee for two made the traditional way. I also want to thank the team for the extra special treatment on this special occassion. A fantastic night and we look forward to returning soon!

My partner and I spontaneously decided to have dinner here, not knowing we stumbled on a gem! We got 2 pizzas; A Friend of Ours and their special, Crema Di Zucca. Both pizzas were amazing but the special was SO good, and probably the best we've personally ever had. The chilli oil also gave it an extra kick that we loved. Issy and Daniel were really welcoming from the get-go and it was a breath of fresh air to see them genuinely interacting with all their customers in such a lovely manner. We will definitely keep coming back! I highly recommend trying out whatever specials they have on that day if you visit :)

BOSS PIZZA = BEST PIZZA. We have been coming here every week for years. Consistently phenomenal pizza. Lovely staff who always provide a fabulous, friendly service. A quiet and cosy place, great for freezing winter nights as well as warm summer ones. Takeaway is also delicious. One night we were late to pickup as it was hard to find a park and the owner offered to make us a fresh one because the other had gone cold. Bloody legends! They genuinely care about making beautiful pizza and keeping up the extremely high quality.
