Anatolia Tantuni — Restaurant in Melbourne

Outstanding eatery in North Fitzroy a bit off the beaten path. Tantuni is a specific type of kebab that I've yet to find anywhere else in Australia, and didn't even see much of when recently visiting Istanbul. Think of it almost like the base of Philly cheesesteak (diced meat, onion, peppers, etc.). Highly recommend the beef tantuni wrap on Turkish bread as well as the gozleme, legit some of the best gozleme I've ever had.

What really made this place shine is the family that owns it. Wife and I were struggling a bit to find a good halal dinner spot on boxing day. We walked a good 30 minutes to try our luck at Anatolia Tantuni and we're ecstatic to see it was open. However, as we walked up it looked as if the family was about to close up and head home as business was so slow. When we came up they fired the grill and fryer back up and offered to stay open to make us dinner. The owner talked to us and treated us like family. We couldnt ask for a better evening in Fitzroy.

Ordered food from menulog. The food was one hour late. The person I spoke to said they can't do anything, it's the driver's fault. But the food was sitting in the restaurant for nearly an hour and the restaurant didn't even try get someone else to deliver it. As a result, we got very soggy chips.

There is also a note with the food that says " you didn't want me to put sauce" but I never gave any such notes. Nor there was an option for me to choose sauces on menulog. The food was HSP. It came with no sauces, no cheese, very dry meat and soggy chips.

Will not recommend this restaurant for deliveries. Very poor service too...

• Best Gozleme in town ( dips costs extra ) • Beyti Tantuni ( meat wrapped in flat bread with various fillinng options - lamb, beef, chicken, mix ) was delicious. It comes with yogurt in the centre and garnished with fresh parsley • Baklava ( dessert) was crunchy and juicy at the same time • Try the Turkish coffee if you are an explorer ( comes with a small turkish delight)

We decided, we want to come back to this place after finishing our meal.
